Go big or go home, as they say. I decided to add another 37 characters to my wonderful hall of fame, and attach 37 more great songs to them as a bonus.
The 37 new wonders are:
Sherry from Isekai Meikyu de Harem o, Fina from Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear, Faye from Cowboy Bebop, Miyuki (not the imouto) from Miyuki, Konoha from Mikakunin de Shinkoukei, Rei and Saya from High School of the Dead, Lise from Extreme Hearts, Andy from Fatal Fury, Kokoro from Aishiteruze Baby, Michiru from Koichoco, Meiling from Cardcaptor Sakura, Ageha and Renge from Kyoukai no Rinne, Rachel, Kahlan and Nicci from The Sword of Truth, Raquel and Fulle from Scrapped Princess, Ami and Ryuji from Toradora!, Fern from Sousou no Frieren, Kanade from Angel Beats!, Izuna from No Game No Life!, Chipp, Jam and Eddie from Guilty Gear, Teru from Saki, Bink and Grey from Xanth, Mint from Tales of Phantasia, Adelle from Bravely Default II, Pan from Dragon Ball, Kazuma from KonoSuba!, Subaru from Girls Band Cry, Cara from FF5 and Kana from Oshi no Ko.
Believe it or not, most of these characters had previously appeared in '100 Waifus' before being kicked out, or were seriously considered as candidates. They were kicked out generally for having repetitive names or being too minor characters, not through any actual fault of their own. I still treasured them in my heart, which is why I didn't forget them or their names even after all this time neglecting them. I honestly don't think these new additions are diluting the average quality of the field. Obviously they're not the best characters ever, I already included that type long ago, but they're not the worst additions either. A lot of them should really have been added a long time ago.
A few of these characters are remembered for what cool villains they were, as opposed to heroes, like Eddie and Teru, but since I already have Emperor Palpatine in my list they'll fit in fine.
Kana is the least attractive heroine in Oshi no Ko, which is crazy because she's still beautiful, talented and her personality is very relatable. Oshi no Ko is that good.
I think it's really noble how Cara aspired to be a hero like her father, and when Galuf passed away she took up his mantle and finished the job by working together with Galuf's companions to defeat Exdeath once and for all. She was regarded as a kid being a nuisance at the start of the game, but by the end everyone learned to respect her resolve.
With the 37 new inclusions, I was able to assign all the remaining unused 5-star songs from FF Tactics, FF5, FF7 and FF8. There are many unused FF themes remaining, but these four games are among my favorite FF's so I really wanted to at least cover them. I had already covered my other favorite FF, FF4, so basically I'm already satisfied.
I also covered all the remaining 5-star Legend of Mana songs (they went to Guilty Gear characters because the music was very much hard rock, right up Guilty Gear's style.) And the remaining 5-star Loreena McKennitt songs.
Some of the characters had lower rated songs from series that were directly related to them, so I carefully gave them suitable themes instead of unused themes. This meant I only got to reduce my unused count down to 77. *Sigh*. Still a long ways to go.
For anyone who wants to know exactly which song each character received, there's my handy-dandy permapost: https://diamed-the-road-less-traveled.blogspot.com/2025/04/which-wonderful-character-got-which-song.html
For anyone who wants to see the full lineup of my fictional character hall of fame, there's this permapost: https://diamed-the-road-less-traveled.blogspot.com/2024/02/wonderful-fictional-characters.html The grand total now stands at 1301, but hopefully that can keep growing until my 77 unused songs are also given a home.
