This ever-expanding series continues, and I continue to consume it as it arrives. There are already two more Parchment volumes released in Japan awaiting translation, so the show isn't nearly over, after all these decades.
The latest volume is similar to many previous volumes, fundamentally a mystery story. 'The mystery of the missing astronomer', would be the title in the Sherlock Holmes case files. Eventually Col solves the mystery, then negotiates a trade agreement which makes everyone in the vicinity happy. It's a rather dull and pointless excursion from the main plot. The problem is most Spice and Wolf books are pointless mysteries, one-and-done type short stories that connect to nothing. That's how the story has managed to drag itself out this far.
I'm much more interested in the series when Col is pushing historical change, like inventing the printing press or discovering a new world or translating the Bible into the vernacular so that the masses can actually read what their religion says. Maybe next volume something momentous like that will occur. . .
Meanwhile, I secured the Hisame maid SS Memoria as well as Tenne's catsuit SS Memoria (not that I even wanted it.) Getting so many SS Memoria's back to back has overwhelmed my resource base so it will take a while to actually upgrade these new memorias to full strength. But I have high hopes for Hisame. I already gave her Munezuka skill its introjection and skill evolution, so Maid Hisame can fight with two super moves instead of the standard one of most other characters from here on. Also, Maid Hisame is dark-element aligned, so she can fit in to my Dark Squad smoothly, which is my second most reliable squad. This means Hisame will actually get to contribute to battlefield successes, not just watch from the sidelines like my new ninjas. Maid Hisame is also far more beautiful than base form Hisame, one of the most beautiful girls in the game. (Tama and Tsukasa in swimsuits are prettier but I think that's it.)
Meanwhile, One Pace finished its version of the Skypiea arc. Now people can watch One Pace in an unbroken string all the way from the start to midway through Wano. A helpful anonymous person produced a compressed version of Wano, so all of One Piece can be found in a compressed version. One Pace has achieved its objective. Finally.
