Kurama > Frog:

Frog from Chrono Trigger is a frustrating entity.  First off, his name isn't really Frog, it's Glenn.  But nobody knows his name is Glenn, so when you talk about Glenn only question marks appear over people's heads.  However, Frog isn't a good name either.  It's a joke name, nobody would want to be named Frog.

The same is true of Frog's appearance.  It's a joke appearance.  He's a humanoid frog.  Green, hunched over and short.  Completely unattractive.  We're supposed to look at this Frog hopping around and slashing people with a sword and think it's cute and funny how effective he is.  Sort of like Yoda in Attack of the Clones.

Frog's character is unassailable.  He joined the hero's party to defeat the Maou (Magus), ended up taking on a curse attack that turned him into a frog, but kept fighting Magus and his minions anyway with a spirit of never give up.  He saves people in distress on principle and helps teach Crono the sword when the two meet.  But it's also quite plain and simple.  Other than his heroic wish to defeat Magus, Frog doesn't have any other hobbies or interests.  He's one-dimensional.

Most of all, appearance matters.  People care so much about appearance that anyone showing up as a frog automatically disqualifies you from being respected or taken seriously from thereon.

Kurama from Yu Yu Hakusho has no problems when it comes to appearance.  His pink clothing and long hair are certainly a bit 'fancy,' but he's not gay.  He's just a very good looking guy who likes the color pink and roses.  You could say he's more 'French' than gay.  And when he transforms into his demon fox form, his hair becomes silver, his eyes yellow, and he gets a mean look on his face that is decidedly male.  Kurama, especially in Yoko form, is crazy good looking, it's night and day compared to Frog.

Kurama has other good traits besides his looks -- (if looks were all that matters Sephiroth would be a better option than Kurama) -- he's super smart, he's always calm and thinking ahead to solve problems, he gets along well with everyone, he's kind to his mother, and he's insanely strong.  One of the strongest people in the world, all of which he uses to help people in distress.  Kurama is an aspirational figure, which is exactly the type I want in my fictional character hall of fame.
