Hawkeye's Okay:

The story is dragged out and meandering, but the characters at the core of things are relatable and fun.  At least the first two episodes were fine.  Better than I can say about Wheel of Time.

In other news, we lost two court cases back to back.  In one case, a jury found that the first amendment, the freedom of speech and assembly, no longer applies to right-wingers.  And therefore, if you organize a rally in favor of a right-wing cause, you can be held liable for anything anyone does in the vicinity and have to pay for any suffering anyone might suffer as a result of your speech or assembly.  In this case a $25 million fine.  The principle is absurd, no one should be held responsible for anyone else's acts, when your act was a constitutionally protected, legal, and non-violent one.  But that's the new standard.  I suggest right-wingers never assemble again.  I suggested they not assemble at the time, it was a dumb idea from the beginning.

In the other case, a group of vigilantes tried to stop a criminal who had been terrifying the neighborhood for a long time from fleeing the scene until cops could arrive.  The criminal, instead of continuing to flee, or admitting his goose was cooked and waiting peacefully for the cops to give him a warning (which the cops testified they were going to let him off with when they did arrive), decided to grab the vigilante's shotgun and attempt to murder him with it.  The vigilante then was forced to shoot him in self-defense, and somehow that means all three vigilantes are guilty of murder.  This is all on video and therefore impossible to dispute.  This was the sequence of events.  Were the vigilantes smart?  No, they should have realized what the justice system in America was like -- anything a white person does is prima facie wrong and anything a black person does is prima facie untouchable.  They should have minded their own business and let the black do whatever he wanted.  You should never, ever, get into a confrontation with a black for any reason.

Only in the last extremity when a black is literally busting down your door with an ax could you possibly shoot them and get away with it.  Other than that you should run away from them, and never ever stop them, talk to them, or do anything that might generate their ire.

But legally speaking, in Georgia there was, at the time, the right to commit citizen's arrests.  And legally speaking, there is everywhere in the USA a right to self-defense, so if this country were sane and followed the law those three men would be innocent, despite the stupidity of their actions.  And legally speaking, there is a 1st amendment right to peaceful assembly and free speech, so no organizers of the Unite the Right rally should have to pay a fine to anyone.  But they too were stupid to think this country has any law anymore except -- "don't offend the Left."  This country isn't about the law, it's about 'who, whom?'  They are the Who and we are the Whom.  They get to do whatever they want to us, and all we can do is lay down and take it.  These two court cases make this clear if somehow you still didn't get the system yet.

Meanwhile, Utawarerumono S3 has an announced airdate -- July 2022.  The anime should be amazing, even though Haku's voice actor is dead and Kuon's voice actress is injured, so the whole thing will be a mess compared to the visual novel's perfection.  Nevertheless, anime has advantages visual novels don't, like animation, and way more stillframes.  Therefore this will still be one of the most important and best anime ever made, my most anticipated show outside of Bleach.

Meanwhile, 4070/5500 songs have received a preliminary rating.  I'm doing my best!  World Wide Business: Clanspia Inc. was intolerably bad so I replaced it with Dark Seeks Light, the opening theme to Sekai Saikou no Ansatsusha.

And a Happy Thanksgiving to all.
