Bleach Can't Fear Your Own World volume 3 read:

This is Bleach's epilogue, which answers a few questions about various people's bankais and the Soul King.  It's even the final volume of that epilogue, so all the info is finally on the table.

That's fun, there are certainly plenty of questions I wanted answered after Bleach ended, but it only answers a few and not even the ones I cared about most.  More surprisingly, it's just a good story in itself.  Tokinada is a great villain and I love his endless sarcastic put-downs towards everyone else.  The fight with Tokinada was very long and very cool, it would have fit in well with some of the crazy conflicts in the original Bleach.

It's good to see the survivors of past conflicts learning to put aside their differences and live in peace and harmony with each other.  Sometimes you don't have to kill every last person from an opposing side to achieve peace.  Win one battle and most people are content to give up and move on.  Even bad guys like Arrancar, deceitful Fullbringers and Quincies can see reason once their resources are exhausted.

All in all, a high quality book that doesn't much move the needle on how good the manga was overall.  I still resent that insanely stupid ending -- 'hey, Ichigo, here's a silver arrow that can easily defeat Ywach we pulled out of nowhere from out of the blue.  Gee, thanks Pa, I guess that puts an end to this world ending disaster.  Hyuk hyuk.'

Mostly I just want to watch the promised new anime.  The ending was stupid, but the 1,000 Year Blood War overall was awesome.  I want to see Soul Society pushed to the limit fighting the crazy powers of all 26 Quincies.  It was fun, it was exciting, it was surprising and oftentimes amazing.  Bleach is rated #5 in my rankings with an eye towards the future, once the anime is actually completed like they've promised.  I want to return to that world as soon as possible.  These books only whet the appetite for the anime which will be so much better.
