As expected this wasn't a good book. There were a few funny scenes and a few flirty scenes. It wasn't entirely worthless. But it just trundles on, with so many characters no one cares about, and this pointless dumb Ente Isla plot. This used to be about living on Earth, not solving Ente Isla problems. The story has lost its soul. Thankfully the series is almost over and each volume is rather short. If I can push through just a little bit longer the tale will mercifully come to a close. All I really want to know is if Maou gets with Chiho or not.
This book did tide me over to the fall anime season, which is now upon us, so I guess it served its purpose.
I rate Hataraku Maou-sama among my great books hall of fame, so I'm stuck reading it. The earlier novels really are great! But I'm stuck reading the not so great volumes too, just so no one can say that I'm encouraging other people to read books I won't even read myself.
The same is true of Lazy Dungeon Master. I haven't enjoyed this novel series in a long time, but it keeps coming out with new chapters. It's ranked in my great books hall of fame so I have to slavishly keep trudging on. The earlier chapters really were good! But everything became so dull, repetitive and pointless and yet still the story won't end. . . I don't understand these authors. Why must they continue to flog so many dead horses? My next objective is to catch up with the Lazy Dungeon Master translated chapter releases and then I'll finally be free to read something decent again.
Omoi, Omoware, Furi, Furare only has two untranslated chapters left to go. Here's a manga that really did excel to the end. It's rare to see a good ending to a good series but for once we're almost there.
