Choyoyu novels are getting translated:

Rejoice!  We won't forever be ignorant of Choyoyu's ending.  The anime only covers the first three light novels -- there are currently 8 out in Japan, and 0 in the USA.  But starting this July the first volume is slated for translation, and then in October the second.  Eventually they'll reach past the anime and start translating new material.  In 2021 hopefully.

A lot of stuff will hopefully occur in 2021.  FF7 Remake part 2?  The new Fate/Kaleid Liner movie?  The ending to Heaven's Feel?  Kud Wafter?  The ending to Outbreak Company?  The Tokyo Olympics?  Sailor Moon Eternal?

It's all up in the air because of covid-19.  At some point either the world accepts the fact that there's a new virus in the world that is only really a threat to old and unhealthy people and move on with their lives, or we continue to cancel and postpone everything and nothing of note comes out ever again.  The world is certainly at a crossroads.  We're out of products that were in the pipeline before covid, so it's either live with the virus or live with nothing entertaining ever again.

I think Japan and its coworkers in China and South Korea will admit this virus was completely overblown and will soon be back to work.  But it could be that they're so conformist and authoritarian by nature that the forever shutdown makes perfect sense to them.  There's no telling.  I never imagined this ridiculous overreaction to a virus no more dangerous than the flu would occur in the first place.

We've already lost half a year of anime to this virus.  All the most highly anticipated shows -- SAO, Railgun, One Piece, Pretty Cure, Oregairu, Re:zero, everything's been blasted away.  It would be horrible if we don't recover at least by the fall season and 2021.  All these great announced anime like Utawarerumono 3 and Bleach, what will become of them?  Love Live?  Strike Witches?  What will we do next year without them?

I don't care if America stays shut down.  Avengers: Endgame was a perfectly good stopping point for the MCU anyway, and they've already butchered Star Wars beyond salvaging.  The west's pitiful contribution to world art was already insignificant.  What's important is Japan getting back on track, and Japan relies on cheap labor in the near abroad to work its anime magic, so them too.

You would think visual novel and light novel translations wouldn't care about covid-19, but it sure feels like they've been delayed too.  Otherwise how do we account for the last 10% of Aiyoku no Eustia taking so long to translate?  I should be playing Aiyoku right now.  Instead I'm stuck with Battle for Azeroth, a game released years ago.

June is such a bad month for entertainment.  If things go as scheduled, there's exactly two books -- Imouto Sae Ireba Ii and Outbreak Company, which combined could probably entertain someone for one day.  That's it.  No anime, games, visual novels, manga, nothing else to speak of.  But I wouldn't be surprised if those two books are delayed by covid-19 too.  Even the SpaceX launch got delayed.  Nothing actually happens anymore in this covid-19 panicked world.

Because nothing in the world has changed, none of my opinions about the world have changed either, which means there's nothing new to say about anything.  I encourage people to read my older permaposts highlighted on the sidebar and my books, most importantly '100 Waifus' and Dead Enders-Choice Givers-Followers and Emulators, as they already say everything worth saying anyway.

The world is so slow, I doubt anyone will change their minds about anything sufficiently for anything important to change, politically or ideologically speaking, for the next decade.  So there's little point repeating my political or ideological wishlist anywhere during that time.  A recent study showed the American birthrate hit another all time low this year.  This is exactly what I'm talking about.  Nothing is going to change, all the trends will continue, I'll point out all these trends are bad for the next 10 years, and yet nothing will change and no one will lift a hand to stop them all the same.  People are too cowardly, stupid and lethargic to do anything with their lives.  So life will lurch on from one crisis to another.  Things will always get worse, but always so slowly that no one will ever care.

The people intelligent and brave enough to get ahead in life don't need to change anything, they're already doing fine in the world of today.  The people stupid and cowardly enough to get run roughshod over right now, for the same reason they'll never change anything in the future, so there's no hope from them either.  The winners will bask in their own self-righteousness while the losers overdose on drugs, and no one will realize that this entire world order is built on lies and the whole edifice must be torn down and built anew if humanity is to have a future.

The Daily Stormer is going crazy with this virus, saying it's all a gigantic conspiracy to destroy the world and we're now in the end times blah blah blah.  Anglin's been going crazy for a long time now but his current interpretation of the news is more outlandishly false than anything he's ever said before.  The truth is this virus is just one more blip of dysfunctionality in a long chain.  It's always getting worse and it will always be getting worse, because the stupid and malicious are in power while the honest and intelligent have been silenced and sidelined.  Ever since virtue was measured by your willingness to swallow lies about race, sex, sexuality, etc., instead of your service to Truth, Beauty, and Love, there was never any hope for mankind.  The world has been terrible ever since World War I and it only continues to decline apace.

A year from now, five years from now, ten years from now, the world will look largely like it does today, only worse.  The same trends will be a little higher -- more fat people, higher drug use, lower marriage rates, lower birth rates, lower inflation adjusted wages, etc.  And most people will live largely like they're used to and never notice.  Nothing exciting will ever happen.  Everything will end in a whimper, not a bang, and that long after we're dead.  All I can point to to prove my predictions is the trend lines.  The trend lines will never change and they're all bad.  Logically, inevitably, that foretells our doom.  There's no process by which the trends can change, no one wants them to change, so nothing can change them.

I have little interest in the suffering of people who could at any point embrace the truth and live happily ever after but insist on living a hellish lie instead.  This virus is a miniature example of all the hoaxes that afflict us.  A panic over nothing, a disease that kills mostly people in nursing homes, ruining all our lives for absolutely no reason.  You know what else ruins our lives for no reason, simply because we swallowed a lie?  This ridiculous belief in egalitarianism between the races and the sexes.  If we went back to traditional sex roles we'd all be happy and fruitful again -- and if we went back to separate countries for separate races there wouldn't be any race riots anymore.  We're suffering from the lies about equality far more than about covid, but it's the same exact issue.  We stupidly believe something for no good reason, with no evidence, and then torture ourselves over it indefinitely, interminably.  We need to keep punishing white men until equality is achieved -- which is never.  We need to continue the lockdown until we find a vaccine -- which is never.  The lies are never overcome, and the laws of nature don't change, so all that happens is various scapegoats are punished for no reason as martyrs to the father of lies.  There's always some 'wrecker of the week' to point at so that the lie can always blame anything else but the fact that it was always a lie to begin with.

Other lies have lasted for millennia -- Islam or Hinduism or Christianity, for instance.  Or that Pharaoh was the rightful ruler of Egypt and descended from the sun god.  There's no reason to believe that the lie of equality between the sexes and races, which only really got started a century ago, won't last millennia too.  We'll never see the end to it.  It will just go on and on and on, deluding humanity forever.  Because the ability to see through lies is the most necessary and the most lacking feature in mankind.
