Youjo Senki Movie + Index S3 Available in blu-ray:

This release has been a long time coming, but thanks to dmonhiro there's now a full Index S3 blu-ray version.  Unfortunately, it's still just 720p, but maybe that was due to the inherent level of detail of the anime.  Maybe there was nothing to be gained from 1080p and it would've just been an upscale?

I presume these blu-ray encoders know what they're doing, so 720p it is.  I'm not in a rush to re-watch Index S3 since there's still Accelerator and Railgun coming out, but it'll definitely come in handy someday.

Tomorrow FF 8 Remastered comes out.

The translation isn't very good, but a 1080p blu-ray fansub of the Youjo Senki movie has finally arrived, thanks to [Eliuna].  Huzzah!  The only problem is nothing really happens in the movie.  Tanya's fated rival Mary Sue (nope, not joking, literally her name) appears and is defeated, but not killed, so they'll just end up fighting again down the line.  And that's essentially it.  The whole movie was a stalemate.  The battle scenes and cityscapes are impressive, but stories are meant to flow better than this.  The movie could have never happened and we'd be none the wiser.  Weakest addition to this year's great anime lineup so far.

If nothing else this clears the logjam in the way of reading the novels.  Now I can read ahead since there are no further anime projects for this franchise.  That's probably the best aspect.

Another chapter of Kyoukai no Rinne was translated, so now we're down to just five chapters left.

The Sen no Hato visual novel has a fandisk sequel now in Japan, while the original still hasn't been translated over here in America.  Sigh.

Tate no Yuusha's 2nd season has been announced, so there's no need to read the manga anymore.
