It's ridiculous for a guy who can kill five lions in seconds to be flummoxed by a pacifist and his girlfriend, failing to kill someone he's decided to kill. There's simply no way that actually happens. This is pure and obvious authorial intervention to save the main character's life.
I refuse to put up with this show's bullshit any longer. If you wanted your main character to survive, don't put him in a hopeless position to begin with, or have him compromise on his principles enough to get along with the killer. 'Refuse to budge an inch and miraculously survive anyway' is not an option on the table.
That brings the summer season back down to a more reasonable 14 shows. Though who knows, maybe even more shows are slated to perish before the end.
