I finally got around to reading 'The Last Full Measure,' the end of the civil war trilogy that two of the best movies ever made cover the first and second acts of. However, all we have is the book for this third act, and the book does an amazing job of relating events in an understandable and innervating manner. Just as the two movies are must-see, this book is must-read material. There is perhaps nothing more important to an American citizen than a proper understanding of the Civil War, and Jeff Shaara endeavors to do just that in his books.
As such, Jeff Shaara has been added to my 'Good Books' permapost, as one of my favorite non-fiction authors, replacing Frank Herbert's Dune series in importance.
There are so few books with anything important to say about anything, but this is one of them.
