If there were any question whether SAO: Alicization would do full justice to the novels, that question has been laid to rest. A full four cours, or around 48 episodes, have been dedicated to the ten-volume arc.
It sounds like the series will be running throughout 2019, which will propel the year to a level of excellence rarely seen. It will also make SAO one of the longest series out there in addition to the best.
We've been waiting so long for this product, but maybe that's because they needed a big head start to produce this many episodes at a satisfactory level of quality. I wouldn't be surprised if they were working on this season concurrently with Ordinal Scale. In any case the torturous wait is slated to end now in less than a month, so all grievances can now be forgiven and set aside.
Unlike the travesty of the Full Metal Panic reboot, there won't be any missing pieces or cliffhanger endings here.
2019 will also feature the ending of Fairy Tail, which is slated to cover the whole manga. So we're going to get the conclusions of the #1 and #2 series in the same year. It just doesn't get any better than this.
Meanwhile, Hugman has released one of the two remaining missing blu-ray movies in the Pretty Cure franchise, Max Heart movie 2. Now we just need Max Heart movie 1. At the rate he's been releasing them, I suspect this joyous event will be coming soon enough.
