'In Another World With 100 Waifus' read and edited for the 39th time:

Today as well I found an edit to make, adding in a sentence to chapter 57:  'The named care package also includes one of my favorite songs that I think matches you best.'  Because it's too eerie to be coincidence that I have 1100 favorite songs while Christopher has 1098 significant others at a party in '100 Waifus'.  Yet again when fate leads such things into synchrony all I can do is bow down and obey.

But that appears to be it, overall chapters 55-59 seem to be very clean and healthy, probably the best portion of the book.  With the added material I created during this 39th session, Chapter 55 especially is perfect.  I love how well it characterizes so many waifus that weren't given any screentime until now in so few words.  It's like a game of speed chess with ten different opponents all going at once, that's the density of romance going down in that lone chapter.

I suppose Chapter 58 and 59 were larger changes to the book than this 39th edition, but nevertheless this was a massive overhaul.  Whole new sections devoted to underdeveloped characters, better phrasing, proofreading, name changes, name movements, franchise changes. . .  If you look at this year as a whole, as a body of work, '100 Waifus' has come so far compared to 2022.  I think I could reasonably argue it's 20% better than last year.  And it was already the best book ever.

The book was still sexy even on the 39th readthrough.  This book is rated pink.

Due to all the edits, every time I read this book there's something new to enjoy, so it never really gets old.  If people want to check out the new and improved version without fear that it will just be changed again shortly now is the time to dive in:

The beauty of this book is that it uses characters from old stories but does not repeat their old stories.  The 100 waifus find themselves in a totally different situation and get to display their qualities in a completely different manner.  As I say in Chapter 55, 'we kept our powers intact, not our problems.'  When you have such wonderful human material, it's a shame to confine them to their old works, old settings and old difficulties.  Bringing them to life here, with a second chance to do something meaningful without any adversarial interruptions, lets them all shine so.

Girls who were sidelined by the author, not allowed to get with the boy they loved, here get to indulge in that love.  Girls who were killed off by the author for the sake of eliciting strong emotions in the readership -- here are spared and shown mercy.  Girls who are stuck in limbo because the original authors quit halfway or the English translators quit halfway -- here get a fittingly full life and conclusion.  Mavis isn't wrong when she said she considered this her afterlife.  These 100 girls earned a good life by their virtues shown in their original works, and now in my work they get to actually have one.  Seeing good things happen to good people because they are good is one of the most satisfying things in life.

Likewise, for all the people stuck on Earth watching it go to hell and powerless to stop it, because a dozen or so basic truths about reality have been gaslit away by modern day culture, also get a second life.  In '100 Waifus' they can all imagine they're this normal guy, Christopher, but for the first time they get to live the life they always deserved, one full of beauty, truth and love.  This book offers heaven for the characters inside the story and fans outside the story, it embraces everyone.  It's the all-book.

If Iran and others really do invade Israel, and Israel responds as it has to with nuclear weapons because its conventional forces are overwhelmed, we could be approaching the end of the world.  As though Ukraine wasn't bad enough.  It's so clear that the world outside '100 Waifus' is totally fucked, which makes it all the more necessary to live inside '100 Waifus' as much as possible.  Why spend another second on Earth when you could be in Eden?
