How to get around the Cyanotype Daydream bug:

The game crashes at Yonagi's second H-scene, but the crash can be avoided.  The trick is to switch to Japanese text for the scene (it's not like you're missing high literature anyway), then you can switch back to English after it's safely over.  There's a text option available from the config screen.

If I couldn't get around this bug I was going to be quite distraught, forever incapable of completing Case-0, the 'true route' that unlocks after you've completed all three dreams.  Case-0 is by far the best route of the game, the whole purpose of the game, and I want to see its ending.  It's already brought me to tears once, so this game does in fact compete with the likes of Summer Pockets.  This is a great visual novel, but I won't know how great until I've actually finished it.

Meanwhile I finished rereading all of Sword of Truth.  The last book was lame, with the entire hero's cast getting captured and spared for dumb reasons by the villains, only to break back out again and turn the tables.  And due to a convenient fact sprung on us out of nowhere, it turns out the boxes of Orden can only be opened up in the People's Palace, so Jagang has to basically deliver the boxes over to Richard for free, which Richard then uses to grant all his wishes and win by default, without ever having to actually find a reasonable solution to his problems.  And then another convenient fact turns out to be that the Sword of Truth is the only way to access the power of Orden, something that wasn't the case until this book, and of course it just so happens that Richard has this sword.  Also, despite the fact that the Beast which hunted Richard was immune to additive magic throughout the series, it suddenly dies to it for no particular reason in this book.  That too sure was convenient.  Sword of Truth ratcheted the drama and suspense up to 11 by creating all these insoluble problems, and then in the final book solves them all easily with a few hand-wavy explanations.  It's terrible writing you'd expect from a 5 year old.

Oh well, books 1-2 and 5-6 were really good at least.  Back before the series jumped the shark.

Australia lost to an England team that was way better than it, I can accept that.  They still get another chance in the third place game.  England vs. Spain for the final should be a high quality bout.

I decided to gather together all the anti-gay tirades I'd made this year into a single unified text and add it to my 'Homosexuality' permapost, where it belongs best.  Together they make a great point that should be heard.  I also added my tirade against unmarried women to the 'Girls have become undateable' permapost, where it belongs best.  I've lost all tolerance for these people.  2023 has actually fostered a lot of permapost worthy commentary, but it's been sprinkled throughout posts talking about miscellaneous things so I'm not sure people really noticed or benefited from it.  I also added 'Dissenters in America aren't faring well' and 'the Demon Possessed' as see also permaposts under the 'Reasoned Debate Doesn't Lead to Truth' heading, because they seemed to fit in best under that topic.  Now those comments are preserved for posterity.
