Great news on three fronts today. The final manga chapter of New Game has been scanlated into English, and everyone at Eagle Jump is doing well. Aoba is working on Peco 2 with the little girl Sophie from France who is now all grown up. A true happily ever after.
Meanwhile, the Grisaia Phantom Trigger anime will continue, covering the story of the ninja and the information specialist in its next installment. I've been holding out hope for this eventuality since the previous installments were all so good.
And lastly, Russia appears to be kicking ass on all fronts and rapidly taking territory. They're already at the gates of Kiev. Of course, I can't predict exactly how a war will go or exactly how many days the Kiev regime will last. But I do know that Russia is a much more powerful military than Ukraine and has much higher morale than Ukraine so the end result is obvious.
I've also finished re-reading Negima and rewatching the Negima oav's. Next up is UQ Holder. I think Negima is at its best when talking about romance and drawing pretty girls blushing. But I admit that the girls wouldn't fall for Negi unless he were a brave superhero fighting all sorts of dangerous powerful opponents and training all the time, so the fighting aspect is necessary to make the romance feel earned. Also, without the fighting, all those great pactio-based kissing scenes wouldn't have happened, so again the two aspects dovetail.
I pretty much have no complaints with the series aside from the lack of nipples. So many nude girls shown off so often, none of them anatomically correct, is a constant frustration and distraction. I get that the series is meant for a 'family audience' and it's all done to avoid censorship, but couldn't there be a 'patched' version for a mature audience sold separately or something? It's such a stupid and pointless problem.
I already knew how great Evangeline, Setsuna, Konoka, Asuna, Yue, Nodoka, Chao, Chisame and Makie were, but I was impressed this time by the wonderful scenes involving Ako and Natsumi as well. Lots of romance to be mined there!
