The last hurrah of Tropical Rouge is out in 720p with distracting Chinese subtitles alongside the English ones. If you want better quality wait for the blu-ray, but I want to watch good anime as soon as possible. The movie doesn't have any dumb fairies or miracle light waving sequences, it's actually a serious, genuine movie this time.
The movie felt short and simple, made even shorter by the reliance on repeat animation attacks and transformation sequences. Maybe Covid-19 meant they couldn't do anything fancier and stay within the airing deadline. Healin' Good Precure was delayed quite a lot by Covid-19 so I wouldn't be surprised.
Another thing that didn't surprise me was Putin's invasion of Ukraine. I predicted it. Like always all my predictions are correct. You can't talk like Putin has and maintain credibility if you back down without receiving a single concession from Ukraine or the west. He had to invade, we forced him to by our intransigence over completely reasonable requests. Russia has a moral right to incorporate territory that wishes to be part of Russia, for the same reason the USA had the moral right to incorporate Texas when it decided to leave Mexico and join the USA. If you'll remember, the USA fought a war with Mexico and invaded all the way to Mexico City to force Mexico to recognize Texas as belonging to the USA forevermore. Now Russia is fighting its own Mexican war with the same war aim, to get the world to admit once and for all that Crimea is Russian territory. As a resident of Texas it would be insane for me to not cheer them on.
When you add to the ridiculous stance of Ukraine that it can keep territory that has already seceded by military force, which logically implies that Ukraine is deadset on invading Russia at some point in the future, because how else do they intend to preserve their precious territorial integrity? When you add that hostile intent to Zelensky saying he wants to start making nuclear weapons, you get a completely untenable neighbor.
Israel says it has the right to prevent Iran from getting nukes because of Iran's hostile rhetoric towards Israel. Well, okay, combine Ukraine's hostile rhetoric towards Russia, constantly claiming that it will invade and conquer Russian territory at any moment, and now they're developing nukes, so doesn't Russia have the same right to stop Ukraine by whatever means necessary that Israel has to stop Iran?
To make the matter even more comical, Iran has continuously denied that it's seeking nuclear weapons, while Zelensky stated openly in front of the whole world that he was intent on getting them. So Israel can do whatever it wants on the suspicion that a hostile power is developing nukes but Russia can't respond to an open declaration of intent?
There is simply no moral principle that forbids Russia from invading Ukraine. If might makes right, then Russia is stronger so of course should rule. If self-determination matters then Ukraine was wrong to not give up Donetsk, Luhansk and Crimea. If territorial integrity matters then Ukraine never had the right to leave Russia in the first place. Also, Kosovo had no right to leave Serbia, East Timor had no right to leave Indonesia, South Sudan had no right to leave Sudan, etc. -- but somehow all those nations were supported by the USA in their independence drives. If the superior should supplant the inferior (my moral principle) Russia is a far superior country to Ukraine by any metric. They're twice as rich per capita, far more powerful, win way more athletic competitions, far more stable, make more major scientific achievements, have better art and music and architecture and literature -- just name anything.
Name a system of thought and there is no pretzel you can twist yourself into that expressly and only forbids Russia from invading Ukraine while letting America and Ukraine and Israel do whatever they want. America said it magically had the authority to invade Syria, overthrow the ruler of Libya, search for magically invisible WMD in Iraq for twenty years, blah blah blah. But Russia can't defend itself from a blatantly hostile neighbor seeking nuclear weapons and seeking to join a military alliance that has nuclear weapons???
There are plenty of normal reasons why Russia should invade Ukraine, but none of those really matter to me. The real reason Russia should invade Ukraine is because this is a clash of civilizations and Russia is on the side of God while Ukraine is on the side of Satan. The world is very clearly divided between a pro-straight-male civilization: China and Russia, and a pro-gay-women civilization, Ukraine and the entire West. Russia is on the side of the angels, and that is the sole and only reason the USA and Europe actually oppose Russia and support Ukraine. They want gays, trannies, and women to be in charge of Russia and China like they are already in charge of NATO. Ukraine is full gay pride territory and they want to make Russia gay pride territory too.
If Russia and China win then the ever-mounting rainbow tide will be checked. Then, just maybe, there might be some hope for this world, because there will still be children somewhere on Earth living normal lives and reproducing in normal families. If the west and its Ukraine proxies win then the entire world is subsumed and doomed in a hedonistic, atomistic death cult.
The stronger Russia and China look and the weaker NATO looks on the world stage, the more likely fence-sitters will side with straight men and the culture they create over gays and women and the culture they create. Anything that humiliates NATO and disillusions the world against gays and trannies is a blow struck in the name of God and all that is holy.
The specific, local circumstances of Russia vs. Ukraine all favor Russia, but I'd be just as happy if Russia invaded and conquered France tomorrow. Or the USA. I just want the gays to die. They're already 40% of our youth if some surveys are to be believed. Our countries are composed of nothing but filthy sludge. There are gay choirs in America openly singing and posting on YouTube "we're coming for your children." If Russia nuked America to oblivion just for that song they'd be in the right. So in the end, none of the local circumstances or historical oddities of Ukraine matter at all. Russia is good because it is anti-gay, and we are bad because we are pro-gay. Nothing else matters. If America has its way the world will go extinct in a sea of aging butt fuckers with no more children on Earth. If Russia wins then maybe, just maybe, we can get back to sanity. The stakes are much higher than Ukraine.
Meanwhile, I finished listening to all my new songs 100 times and gave them appropriate ratings, assimilating them into my music hall of fame. All the appropriate edits have been made to my music hall of fame post, but the long and short of it is Dance! Dance! Dance! wasn't worth listening to 100 times so I cut it, while all 9 remaining vocalist songs from Heaven Burns Red received 5-star ratings, and Jun Maeda has jumped up to 7th best composer of all time. He's only a few points behind Masaharu Iwata so if he composes a few more songs before the end like I expect he will he's destined for 6th place.
Aqours' new song also merited 5 stars, while Tchaikovsky's violin concerto in D was 3 star.
