Top Gun 2 comes out this May, so that's another series ending this year. Imouto Sae Ireba Ii is almost finished being translated, but will probably spill over into 2023. Aiyoku no Eustia might come out this year, but if not this year then next year. It's already been delayed quite a while, the embargo can't last forever.
Bleach will likely run continuously once it starts this fall and thus reach its ending in 2023.
I rewatched Sailor Moon Eternal as part of my 'all great anime must be rewatchable' pledge, and it was excellent, especially the 2nd movie. Sailor Saturn (Hotaru) really stood out, so much so that I decided to add her to my fictional character hall of fame within '100 Waifus' as one of Usagi's daughters. To make room, I moved Usagi's previous daughter, Alice, over to Lisanna, and cut Lisanna's daughter Aqua entirely. Since Aqua isn't from a hall of fame franchise she was always expendable. It's always better for parent and child to belong to the same franchise whenever possible. Sailor Moon Eternal said 'to be continued' at the end. It would be reasonable to surmise that the final season of Sailor Moon will come out in 2023. It's already been a year since the previous films were released in Japan, plenty of time for production of the final stage. You can't wait too long because Kotono Mitsuishi is old and Sailor Moon can't happen without her voicing Sailor Moon.
It's likely that the 4-volume conclusion to 12 Kingdoms, "Silver Ruins, Black Moon" will be fully translated in 2023. Bakemonogatari, with only three volumes left to translate, is likely to be completed by then as well. In Japan at least Hai to Gensou no Grimgar and No Game No Life should also be ending around then. The authors of the series have signaled as much.
Akira Toriyama is so old, I wouldn't be surprised if Dragon Ball ends in 2023 as well. At least the Super manga.
If series as famous as Sailor Moon, Dragon Ball and Bleach all end together we'll be seeing the end of an era. I want things to end. I want to see the endings to things. I don't want more Berserk like endings where the author keels over from a heart malfunction and we're all just left wondering what the hell was supposed to happen next in the story. All of these series have already taken decades to get done, except Imouto Sae Ireba Ii which started in 2015. (Since 2015 is also a year and we're talking about finishing this series in 2023 that's actually 9 years though, almost a decade.) Aiyoku no Eustia was released in 2011 in Japan, so yes we're talking decades here.
This is a significant portion of a person's lifespan. If you ask people to wait much longer they'll die first. That isn't fair to the fans who have invested their hearts into these narratives and want to know how everyone and everything ends up -- who want answers to all their remaining questions.
There are 300 franchises who are important enough to me that characters from them show up in my fictional character hall of fame. The majority of them lack proper endings. If, in the next couple years, I could get that number to flip over, where the majority of them have proper endings, that would be a great balm to my heart. A great relief, that caring about all these stories wasn't in vain, that they all eventually pay out and pay off. I could care less about the fate of the world so long as I learn the fate of my favorite fictional characters.
