2019 is the best year ever, and here's why:
As an author, it's always nice to write a new book. But when that book is the same length as three traditional volumes, and is so mesmerizingly good that it can be read 16 times back to back in the same year, that's something else. That's the best book ever written. I would have been happy to have finished any new book. I'm ecstatic to have written the greatest book in human history. Even if I hadn't written it myself, if I had simply stumbled across the greatest book ever written and read it, if it had been authored by anybody anywhere, that would have been a great year. For it to be my own book is the icing on the cake.
The entire year was spent not only re-reading said book, but re-writing it as well. First there were all the additional chapters, and then the endless edits and proofreads. Throughout the year I dedicated myself to making the best book even better, and by the end it was a perfect shining diamond. It was extremely fun seeing with each re-read how much better the story was than the time before due to my hard work.
On the side, I also proofread all my other books and formatted them to look good for the online reader who was interested in my works. Now everyone can read all my stories in a visually pleasing form by clicking on my permaposts on the lower right side bar. Though I never received any complimentary comments, all my books have seen a pleasing amount of traffic, so the work was well worth it.
Usually anime takes the top billing in any year's quality, but this time it will have to come 2nd to 'In Another World With 100 Waifus.'
As far as anime went, it was an excellent year featuring heavy hitters like Fairy Tail, SAO and Precure. It blows 2018 and 2017 out of the water. One Pace revitalized the #4 anime of all time, One Piece, into a watchable form, at just the moment when the regular anime became unwatchable. This life-saving maneuver cannot be appreciated enough. There was also a healthy lineup of all-new anime (highlighted in bold) that 2018 in particular was lacking.

In addition to the great anime, there were also a number of good anime worth at least watching that aired this year:

Endro
Yakusoku no Neverland
Manaria Friends
Kenja no Mago
Carole & Tuesday
Senryuu Shoujo
UchiMusume
Sounan desu ka?
Gundam: The Origin
Boku no Hero Academia
Lord El-Melloi II Case Files
Re:Stage Dream Days
Arifureta
Assassin's Pride
On top of this, I also rewatched a great deal of older anime, fulfilling my pledge to both watch and rewatch all anime I rank as great. This included the entirety of One Piece + One Pace, my new and improved replacement for One Piece, and the entirety of Fairy Tail (including the newly released Fairy Tail Final season).
I finally completed my anime voices hall of fame, a nagging issue that took seven years to equal my top anime rankings in grandeur. Now everyone deserving of recognition for making anime great has it.
I added 92 net new songs to my music hall of fame, which is a far cry from last year's music-focused 1,000, but still a healthy sum. More importantly, I got all of my new songs up to muster, with everyone having been listened to at least 40 times. I'm well on my way to my 100 listening goal.
I discovered a lot of new manga and started reading more than ever. Almost all of them are adaptions of isekai web novels, which seems to be the best genre for storytelling as far as I can tell. (As my own isekai novel attests). Junai Sensation, Kyoukai no Rinne, Dungeon Seeker, Isekai Barrister, Nanoha Vivid, Sakura Trick, Akame ga Kill! Zero, Fairy Tail: City Hero, Hero's and Noble Witches actually reached their endings.
As for visual novels, it was a slow year, but I still managed to read Sanoba Witch, Dracu Riot, Trinoline and Hello, Goodbye.
Video Games were stupendous this year, with Dragon Quest XI exceeding all expectations. It was the perfect game, delivering nigh infinite fun. Valkyria Chronicles 4 was likewise stupendous, and even Tales of Vesperia and FF8 for PS4 was fun. Soul Calibur 6 was okay.
I read a healthy dosage of books this year as always. Suka Moka turned out to be a bust, as was the last volume of Zero no Tsukaima, Youjo Senki and UchiMusume's entire series, but the rest were splendid additions to my good books hall of fame. Outbreak Company volumes 5-11, Grimgar 13-14+, Rokka no Yuusha 6, Index 22 + Reverse, Amagi Brilliant Park 5-8, Imouto Sae Ireba Ii volumes 4-5, No Game No Life 9, Xanth 42, Parchment and Wolf 4, SAOAGGO 4-5 and SAO Progressive 6. There were also lots of additional chapters of Death March and Lazy Dungeon Master.
As for movies, I watched Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,The Rise of Skywalker, Aquaman, Dark Phoenix, Into the Spiderverse, Spider Man: Far From Home, and Avengers: Endgame. Television also featured the ending to Game of Thrones, which was alright. I think the critics were too hard on it. March Madness, college football and the NFL Playoffs all contributed as always, but this time we also got to see team USA win the women's world cup. That was a nice bonus.
I wrote some permapost worthy political commentary, from global warming to surrogacy to Finnish birth rates, but most of my creative ambitions were properly poured into '100 Waifus'.
The stock market did very well for everyone this year, but I especially made mad bank, with a 38% YTD return. If only Trump could stay in office forever so every year could be like this.
On the political front, the Democrats have shot themselves in the foot by impeaching a President for no crime at all, which is in clear violation of the Constitution, alienating all fair-minded Independents and firing up the passions of already Conservative voters eager to find revenge at the ballot box (just like what happened when they tried to frame Kavanaugh for ludicrous crimes before the midterms). This makes for a very jolly election season coming next November.
I swear, if the Democrats just shut up and did nothing they would win every American election hands down, they outnumber conservatives practically 2 to 1, but because they keep pulling one atrocious stunt after another (like nominating the mass murderer Hillary to be their candidate) they're locked out of all three branches of power. The House is a consolation prize compared to the Senate, which appoints judges and cabinet members, has the ultimate say on impeachment, as well as decides all important legislation. If the House disappeared tomorrow no one would even notice it has so little power. And if they keep this up, they'll be locked out of power for the next 4 years too as we just run up the score on them with more and more wins. The Supreme Court is already full of our guys but soon enough RBG and Breyar will have to retire and then it's going to get really fun.
Plus Boris Johnson won the latest British election so Brexit will finally actually get done. Democracy prevails over the elites! Now the U.K. doesn't have to go down with the sinking, soon to be Muslim-majority E.U. ship.
Can a heart really take all this winning? Please, I don't want to win anymore! It's all too much! But Trump has shot me down saying, "no, we're going to keep winning!" It's a shame but it just won't stop!
