If we list songs not just by their franchise, but specifically by game, we can glean more about which games had the best music even within franchises, instead of just saying macroscopically obvious things like Final Fantasy has on average better music than Tales.

The way to discern the quality of a game's music is to figure out what percentage of its songs are 6 star, what percentage are 5 star, and so on. The higher the percentage of songs that are in the higher brackets, the higher quality the game's music was. Multiply the number of 6 star songs by 6, 5 star by 5, and so on. Then divide by the total number of songs in that game, and you get its average star placement. For games with small sample sizes any result would be invalid so they can just be ignored.
