Fall 2026 Anime First Impressions:

The only great new anime this season is Suikoden.  I'm amazed at the character design, art and animation quality.  The plot and setting is immediately gripping and believable.  The three young heroes who all come from the same village are instantly lovable.  This is one of the most promising first episodes ever, and the series is already planned to run until the story's completion with two cours.  Suikoden has already reached my top anime rankings as #198, kicking out Imouto Sae Ireba Ii to make room.  Riliu and Jowy have already made my wonderful fictional characters list -- with Riliu receiving The Woodlands as his theme song and Jowy The Wildlands.

As for the rest of the debutantes, here are the ones worth watching so long as I'm also playing Magic:

Saikyou Soubi

Yowaki MAX

Kanata Kara

Psyren

Doumo, Suki na Hito

Nia Liston

Seikai Saikyou Majo

Dandivine

Firefly Wedding

Shinja Zero
