Wonderful +16:

Schala, Ayla, Col, Shiroha, Maria, Bart, Naru, Shoukei, Luminary, Mia, Arisu, Sawako, Ako (Saki), Ako (Negima), Natsumi and Luthien joined my fictional character hall of fame.

Most of these characters had been there before, but were cut out to make room for more deserving characters, or characters with more unique/better names, or characters with larger roles, over the years I edited '100 Waifus.'  It's true these characters shouldn't appear in '100 Waifus,' but that doesn't mean they have to be banished to the outer darkness.  They're still great people, they just need a slot in a less demanding, more open field, where names don't matter so much.

If your character has a bit role or a too common name, that doesn't make you not moving or not memorable.  It's possible to be moving, memorable, minor and repetitively named.  People like that deserve their day in the sun too.  The fact that I remember all these characters' names without having to look them up and without having drilled myself to remember them proves their worth a priori.  How else did they leave such a great impression on me than by their worth?

This makes for 91 Wonderful Fictional Characters who don't appear in '100 Waifus.'

Just so people can place these characters more easily, I'll list them by franchise:

2 Chrono Trigger:  Schala and Ayla.  [Schala got Schala's Theme.  Ayla got Ayla's Theme.]

2 Xenogears:  Maria and Bart.  [Maria got The Wind Calls to Shevat in the Blue Sky.  Bart got Dazil, Town of Burning Sands.]

2 Dragon Quest (XI):  Luminary and Mia.  [Luminary got Unknown World.  Mia got U.B.]

2 Negima:  Ako and Natsumi. [Ako got Sore wa Bokutachi no Kiseki.  Natsumi Fonsa Myma (Night).]

1 Spice & Wolf:  Col.  [Col got FITHOS LUSEC WECOS VINOSEC.]

1 Summer Pockets:  Shiroha.  [Shiroha got In the town of Incessant Rain.]

1 Hanayamata:  Naru.  [Naru got Main Theme (from Lost Odyssey).]

1 12 Kingdoms:  Shoukei.  [Shoukei got Shihouka.]

1 Idolm@ster U149:  Arisu.  [Arisu got Shine in the Sky.]

1 Kimi ni Todoke:  Sawako. [Sawako got Kimi ni Todoke.]

1 Saki Achiga:  Ako. [Ako got godsibb.]

1 Tolkien's Middle Earth:  Luthien Tinuviel. [Luthien Tinuviel got The White Tree.]

In addition, I assigned songs to three characters I'd forgotten to assign songs to, who were already in my Wonderful Fictional Characters hall of fame -- Rob Lucci got Fleurs du Mal, Kenji (from Bloody Roar) got Venice Rooftops and Hotaru (from Konozora) got Hikari (a song from Konozora).

Kuro used to have Schala's Theme, but obviously Schala has priority on Schala's Theme, so Kuro was given Until the End of Time as her song instead.  Makie used to have Shevat, but obviously Maria has priority so she received The Trees Have Eyes instead.  Kirie used to have Dazil, but obviously Bart has priority so she received Compression of Time instead.  Shushou used to have Shihouka, but obviously Shoukei has priority so she received Jūni Genmukyoku instead.  Iori used to have Shine in the Sky, but obviously Arisu has priority so she received Rat a Tat!!! instead.

In order for Sawako to get her obvious theme song, I had to promote it to 3-star.  I demoted Bach's Cello Suite to make room.  In order to get Luminary his obvious theme song, Unknown World, I had to demote Bizet's Habanera to make room.  Anime music > classical anyway.

The songs assigned are very fitting, but due to the priority being 'fitting' songs I didn't actually make much headway in the unused 5-star songs batch.  A lot of these songs are 3-star or 4-star songs from the correct franchise instead of unused 5-star songs, which is as it should be.  A character's personal song should be one that best suits them, not just a random good song.  But it does mean I still have my work cut out for me to actually use all these unused songs.

In the end I only managed to utilize 12 unused 5-star songs, and one of those was an instrumental, so only 11 unused vocal 5-star songs got a name of their own.  That leaves me with 13 vocal 5-star songs to go.  Good fictional characters don't grow on trees so we'll see. . .
