Karane and Ahko:

Rewatching 100 Girlfriends reminded me how much I like Karane.  As one of the original two girlfriends Rentarou started dating, and by far the better of the two, we get to know Karane better than any other girl in the series.  Then we add in her beautiful blonde twintails, her cute tsundere personality, and her constant desire and ability to help her fellow girlfriends, and she becomes a reliable hero, not just a heroine.  As the new girlfriends become more and more eccentric, she's become the 'voice of reason' with a much more down to Earth personality which, though silly, is still within normal human limits, which helps anchor the series and keep it from totally floating away.

Ahko is also from 100 Girlfriends, but much deeper in, a place the anime hasn't and probably won't reach.  She's a girl who has the best intentions but doesn't have good people skills.  She tends to think things through slowly and can't keep up with a conversation, and her emotions are always a beat behind, and her face a beat behind even those beat behind emotions.  This makes her easily misunderstood and isolated.  Her ability to hold up under this constant social pressure/pain and still be friendly and care about others is a true virtue.  Combine that with her beautiful (again blonde) hair and fashion sense and you have another wonderful fictional character worthy of my hall of fame.  People like Ahko prove that intelligence isn't the be-all end-all of value.  It's the heart that matters.  Consideration towards others and the wish to be good, whether you can realize that wish or not.  Rentarou saving Ahko from her personal hell is one of his finest moments, but Ahko enduring until Rentarou got there was also brave.

I'd forgotten to give Sephiroth a wonderful song, so he of course got One-Winged Angel.  The previous holder of the song, Naoe, was given Sword of Virgin instead.  By expanding my wonderful character gallery I'm also allowed to expand my wonderful song gallery, so I gave Ahko 'Everblight Plain,' (a suitably sad song) and Karane 'Underground Luster,' (since she hides her beautiful feelings).  This marks the completion of the Xenoblade album, now all songs from all three games rated 5-star are represented by someone.

I also added Kabuto from Naruto back to my Wonderful list.  Not only is he an interesting villain who eventually overcomes his rough upbringing and becomes a hero by the end, with unique techniques and good advice: "Once you die you lose everything, including your dreams!", but he's the perfect candidate for the 'Orochimaru's Theme' song that doesn't suit any other character (since Orochimaru has Orochimaru ~Fight~ and can't own two songs at once.)  At one point Kabuto had practically become Orochimaru so it all fits together.

Overall there are still 200 unused 5-star songs no character has yet claimed.  It would be fun if I could someday totally engulf that number, but obviously that's a decades-away-dream.  For now I'd be happy if I could at least give all the vocal songs a representative.

As though I didn't already have enough games to play, I downloaded the latest Yuzusoft visual novel, Angelic Chaos Reboot, basically because the angel looked exactly like how I imagined Cute would look from '100 Waifus.'  Yuzusoft has never let me down.  I loved Senren * Banka, Dracu Riot and Sanoba Witch, so a new visual novel by them is probably also going to be great.  I don't know why Yuzusoft visual novels are more reliably translated than Key visual novels, but I'll take what I can get.
