It looks like the Israel-Iran war has been called off:

It's not clear if Israel did any damage to Iran at all today.  It was a performative strike, like the one Iran did to Israel, with only 2 casualties.  Now that everyone has pretended to do something maybe we can have peace again.

Iran made a lot of big talk about how next time Israel attacks them they won't show any restraint and will unleash their full force and fury immediately.  But as you can see they didn't do a thing.  It was all talk.  It feels like behind back channels the whole world negotiated a face saving maneuver for both sides.

I was genuinely afraid of Israel-Iran going nuclear and turning in to World War III.  But that's off the table for now.  However, Ukraine could still go nuclear at any moment so we're nowhere near out of the woods.  It sure would be nice if Trump won in ten days. . .

I've screened 5482/5500 songs, but these last songs are so long that it will still take a while to finish.  One unfortunate discovery I made in this process is that there was still an overwritten clone song in my collection.  Meaning it used to be some song, I don't know what anymore, but was turned into a copy of 'Field C' from Fantasy Earth.  Luckily the overwritten song was only a 1-star so it probably wasn't worth keeping anyway.  At least this should be the last of my clone song casualties, as a check this thorough didn't reveal any other problems.

What it does mean is I need another new song to plug the gap and get back to 5500.  Luckily that won't be a problem as I've downloaded the opening to SAOAGGO S2, 'gg.'  This is a very catchy song and will do fine as the capstone of my collection.

Once I've screened through all my music I can take the next step and listen to my newly downloaded songs, my fresh recruits, 100 times.  The ones that survive that culling process can replace the underperforming songs I want to delete from my collection.

Once that's done I'll flip the ratings of the remaining songs to their true worth and make all the necessary adjustments to the points values of my composers embedded within my music hall of fame.

Ideally I'll have the perfect music hall of fame by November.  5500 songs, all longer than 30 seconds so real songs not just ditties, all genuinely worthy of their 'hall of fame' status, evenly divided between five tiers of 1100 songs each, each honored proportionally to their quality.

My music hall of fame will end up a masterpiece on par with '100 Waifus.'  I've certainly put as much work into it as '100 Waifus.'  And edited it just as often. . .But like how I finally reached a genuine top 200 anime rankings with Ao no Hako, I'm going to finish '100 Waifus' and my 'music hall of fame' this year.

All 200 of my top anime are 'hall of fame' worthy as proven by my ability to rewatch them all, actually exist with real episodes you can watch, and are all at least 12 episodes long so not the equivalent of musical 'ditties.'  My anime hall of fame also took a long time to reach this minimum standard, but it did eventually happen.  Projects can reach completion with enough effort.

I updated my "The new 300" post to reflect the 300 on the dot franchises '100 Waifus' honors enough to name characters after.  I also wanted to edit '100 Waifus' to include Ao no Hako so I could get to that nice round number of 300 again.

Theoretically I'm fine with there being more than 300 great works of art in the world, but I don't actually need there to be.  Already with 300 I can keep my mind fully occupied.  Either with sequel/spinoff content or by re-visiting the old material, there's years and years of stuff as is.  I'd be fine with the entire entertainment industry focusing on finishing these 300 franchises and then shutting down forever.  I feel like all the truth of the universe can already be discovered within these works so there's no need for anything more.  At least all the truth that fiction can reveal.  All further stories are redundant at this point.  Likewise I'd be fine with there being no new good music ever again.  5500 great songs are plenty to occupy me for the rest of my life.

Speaking of pointless new art, 'Ura Taihou' is an exemplar.  The story pretends it's about gambling, but since one side can brazenly cheat it isn't gambling anymore.  Gambling involves risk taking, not sure things like fixed games.  So what is the story?  Well it isn't a battle story either, because the protagonist isn't strong enough to defend himself from these brazenly cheating thugs.  The best classification for this show is an 'asspull story.'  Where the author uses some dumb, unbelievable asspull to get his characters out of tight spots, allowing for endless artificial drama.  (Artificial drama is when you get the viewer excited about a seemingly dire situation, but then whisk your character to safety through total nonsense.  It's also artificial drama when characters get themselves into completely avoidable or easily solvable problems and then crawl back out of them to safety again.  A perfect example of artificial drama is someone getting in a fight with their love interest over something stupid and then making up with them.  Another perfect example of artificial drama is an overpowered hero pretending to struggle against some trash opponent only to eventually reveal his true power and waste him in one punch.  Another perfect example is the first episode of Ura Taiho.)

Ura Taiho was the final new series of the fall season so now we have a conclusive outlook on what's worth watching for the next two months.

I'm so confident '100 Waifus' is fully edited I've already purchased a new paperback copy with all the latest revisions.  Hopefully I'll be right this time.
