Index GT volume 9 read:

The book over at baka tsuki has been fully translated now.  It was a decent action-packed story about all the powers of the planet fighting just one mage who somehow or other was immune to virtually all attacks.  Things worked out at the very end using generous resurrection spells all over, but now it turns out Alice Anotherbible is shaping up to be the next all powerful mage villain everyone has to work together to beat.  And so it goes.

The story is empty of all meaningful content, choosing instead to rely entirely on action sequences.  The author could spit out dozens of such books, one new villain after the other, if he wanted, but I wish he wouldn't.  All I want is for Touma's romances to progress and everyone to settle down and live happily ever after.  Touma vs. world-ending mages is an overused concept that has already happened dozens of times already in the series.  Do we really need more?

Oh well.  Index has never been the strong point of this series, Railgun has.  And there's plenty more good Railgun material to look forward to, whether as the Mental Out spinoff or the Item spinoff.  There will be plenty of good Index/Railgun to look forward to in 2024.

Meanwhile the Code Geass Z anime has been announced to air in 2024, involve no characters from the original series, and be a handful of oav's.  That's better than ruining the legacy of the original, so I'm optimistic about the show now.

Western Kentucky came back from a 28-0 deficit to beat Old Dominion yesterday, one of the largest comebacks in football history.  They did it by switching qb's after falling into a 21-0 hole, and some lucky missed/blocked field goals which kept them within striking distance.  It's still crazy.
