Liliruca and Serenoa:

Serenoa had previously been in my fictional character hall of fame, but was edged out for some other dude.  Maybe it was Noah, but in any case, I'm sure it was a great guy who did deserve Serenoa's place.  However, it wasn't Serenoa who should have been replaced, a hero, a leader, a statesman, a good husband and a good friend.  He has a great, inspiring voice and leads the charge in every battle.  I'm not sure what more you could want in a man.

So this time I put Serenoa back in and took Sephiroth out instead.  Sephiroth is a villain, not a hero.  No matter how good looking or skilled with the blade that villain might be, he was still plotting to destroy the entire planet.  And he killed Tifa's parents, and he killed Aerith.  It never made sense for Tifa or Aerith to welcome a child named 'Sephiroth' into their family, as they only have bad memories attached to him.  But anyone else having a FF7 lore based child instead of Tifa and Aerith who are actually from FF7 also makes no sense.  So ultimately it doesn't make sense for anyone to have a child named Sephiroth.

Meanwhile, Sousou no Frieren is getting an anime, which will eventually replace Azumanga Daioh in my great anime rankings (currently ranked dead last at #200).  '100 Waifus' features a character from every ranked anime or manga, but Azumanga Daioh is only ranked on a technicality, as a placeholder for the upcoming Sousou.  So I may as well update '100 Waifus' now to the eventual state the situation will become and kick out Azumanga's representative Ayumu immediately.  It just makes my fictional character hall of fame more accurate and more estimable.  This is because Ayumu is really nothing special, a poorly drawn character with a poor head, that is pitiable more than anything else.  She even shares a name with another Ayumu (from Hayate) so I can increase name diversity by kicking her out.

I considered a lot of different girls to take Ayumu's place -- Frederika from Triangle Strategy, Mist from Fire Emblem, Kasumi from Dead or Alive, but ultimately I went with Liliruca from DanMachi.  There's something I noticed over time.  Virtually every good scene in DanMachi features Liliruca.  Whether it was her initial introduction where Bell forgave her for stealing from him, or this latest season where she chose to hold fast and have faith that Bell would save them all instead of split the party and hope for at least a few survivors, it always feels like some amazing emotional speech is done by Lili which carries the emotional weight of the whole series.  Perhaps that just comes down to her great voice actress, Maaya Uchida, but I think it really has to do with Liliruca being a great person.  She seems more mature than the rest of the cast, thinks about things more deeply, and comes to reasonable conclusions that help out everyone.

Lili has three more assets -- she overcame a drug addiction that no one else thought possible to overcome the drug was so intoxicating due to the power of her love for Bell being even greater -- she's a cute little girl with nevertheless prominent breasts -- and sometimes she even grows cat ears.  After that who can argue?

DanMachi is still ongoing so in the future yet more scenes will show off how cool Lili is, making the case for her even more decisive.

By kicking out the sole character from Azumanga Daioh and replacing her with a single character from Triangle Strategy, I maintain the round number of 300 honored fictional franchises in '100 Waifus.'  And due to Liliruca being an original name, the total number of differently named individuals in the fictional character hall of fame moved up to 801.  I prefer this over 800 because 800 sounds too convenient, like it came about by design.  Plus the more unique names the better.
