Lulu replaced with Hasumi:

Hasumi is a sufficiently attractive girl that she deserved a spot in my fictional character hall of fame, and as an extension Renai Karichaimashita is a good enough visual novel that it deserved a plug like all the other series mentioned in the index of '100 Waifus.'  I knew exactly who I wanted to replace, too, which made the decision easy.

Lulu from Final Fantasy 10/10-2 is more weird looking than attractive, with a dress made out of belts and all.  She has this haughty attitude even though she's not that great, especially when she's lecturing Yuna or Wakka who are actually cooler than her.  Compare that to Hasumi's fawning and agreeable attitude and it's no contest.  Plus Hasumi is better looking so really what's left?  Devotion?  Hasumi is more devoted over time to Yuki than Lulu is to Yuna or Wakka.  She's loved the same boy since childhood, and is willing to bribe him with money if that's what it takes to get him.  Lulu barely seems to care about her own husband.

Hasumi enjoys dressing up and changing her hair, eating good food, sex, friendship and life in general.  Lulu seems to always be in a sour mood and doesn't like anything.  I'd rather spend my time with Hasumi.

To make matters worse, Lulu's name overlaps with another character in my fictional character hall of fame, Lulu from Death March.  Hasumi is an all-new, unique name.  So this gives my names more memorability and impact than before.  Now there is only the Lulu, not a Lulu, in the story.  The only Lulu who matters.

In a huge oversight, I didn't list that there were two Lulu's in the book in the index, but now that mistake has actually turned into the correct state of affairs, as there now really is only 1 Lulu.  Just call it prognosticative accuracy?  I must have felt somewhere in my heart that in the end this would be how things turned out.  But it does mean this correction was absolutely necessary, or my book would have forever been in shameful error as to the number of unique names in the story.

There are only a few names in my fictional character hall of fame I still want to change, so Hasumi got in at the last possible second.  I'm happy for her.

Perhaps due to the extra game long season, the NFL has finished its 14th week with still no teams sure to get into the Playoffs.  That's an exciting season where the suspense is still alive for practically everybody, every city across the nation still has someone to cheer for.  It's indicative of how close all these teams are, which leads to all the thrilling one-score and overtime finales.  The Playoffs will be even closer matches with even more spectacular skills on display.  They're going to be amazing starting in January.  Just one more thing to look forward to about 2022.

The first bowl games are only three days away.

Also, RIP Jouji Yanami.  He's one of only 57 boys in my seiyuu hall of fame, with memorable performances as Gan Fall and Kaio, and now he's gone.  Dead at age 90, born in 1931, he's probably seen enough of this world to last a dozen lifetimes.  From World War II to Covid, it was a lifelong veil of tears.  And yet he still accomplished so much and made so many others happy, appearing in all the most popular series -- Dragon Ball, One Piece, Inuyasha.  He bowed out a winner.  Fans of the series, which are all currently still ongoing, will miss him dearly.

I do have this complaint about long-running series though.  So many seiyuu for characters in Dragon Ball and One Piece have died, and yet the stories keep going with no end in sight.  This is ridiculous.  Both the creators and the fans of these series are all going to die before they're done.  Can't they speed things up a little and wrap it up already?  How many decades do you need?

Also, it seems as though Edens Zero is no longer being translated into English, which is a huge loss.  It's one of the only good weekly manga coming out these days and now it's gone too.  *sigh*
