Evil Beast, Scutum-Fang, The Beginning of the Road to Evil and a Prelude to Treachery, and Expell Class 4 - Code Red Deamons Replaced:

I have to keep trimming down the number of 1-star songs or they'll overflow, so I've cut 4 more of them in favor of the best songs from Uma Musume S2, a series close to my heart.

Unlike Nobuo Uematsu's Evil Beast and Motoi Sakuraba's ridiculously long-titled songs, Uma Musume would never let me down.

The Uma Musume songs taking over are titled 'A Small Prayer' by Rice Shower and 3 Tokai Teio songs: 'Sunbeams Ale,' 'Winning Soul,' and 'Yume o Kakeru!'  Of course Tokai Teio is voiced by a voice actor, so they're all actually Machico songs, a singer who has already done an excellent job with the Pretty Cure franchise.  Her reputation keeps soaring.

Due to these constant changes my current 'Music Hall of Fame' permapost is an inaccurate mess.  There's no point constantly correcting it when the whole thing will be receiving a total overhaul later this month, so I'd steer clear of it for now.  'under construction' is the best way to put it.

I've rated 5000/5500 songs, so 500 left to go, but all in the 5 to 8 minute range, so quite a bit of music left to trod.  As a whole my music hall of fame is around 3/5 video game music, 1/5 rock/classical, and 1/5 J-Pop, but these remaining songs are more like 1/3 video game, 1/3 rock/classical, 1/3 J-Pop.  The extra J-Pop will raise the average rating, but the higher rock/classical will lower it, so the prognosis isn't very bright for staying under numerical limits.

1 star is at 1079/1100, 2 star at 1037/1100, 3 star at 996/1100, 4 star at 868/1100, and 5 star at 1008/1100.  In other words, I can distribute 4.2% of the remaining songs to the 1 star category, 12.6% to 2 star, 20.8% to 3 star, 46.4% to 4 star, and 18.4% to 5 star.  It's rather incredible, despite assigning virtually everything to 4 star recently, the amount I must needs assign to 4 star in the future has nevertheless crept upward since last time.  Longer songs tend to be better, so this situation is preferable to the seemingly ideal '20% to each quintile' one would assume.  Still, I would like a little more leeway than '4%' for 1 star.  Odds are I'll have to pull out some more trump cards by the end and replace more 1 star songs with wholly new tunes to keep things in alignment.

Usually I'd be summing up the year around now, but I can't do that this time.  First I need to finish this music hall of fame project, which is basically the heart and soul of my entire year.  In addition, three of the most prominent anime of the year, Yuuki Yuuna, Selection Project and Shiroi Suna, all end late December.  Until I've gotten to see their conclusions there's no way to sum up the quality of the year as a whole.  Whether the endings are good or bad will affect things greatly.  It's even important to know whether Cincinnati makes the college football playoff or not.  Is the system rigged or not?  It's important to find this out first.
