October Fun Abounds:

Starting tomorrow a slew of releases are inbound:  The latest Haganai manga volume 19 and the latest Xanth novel 45.

Then on the 26th comes a new SAO and SAOAGGO volume.  Plus a new Imouto Sae Ireba Ii volume.  Even I can't read fast enough to keep up with all these releases.

My music hall of fame has 791 songs to go.  I can listen to my music while reading all these new books so the projects go well together.

Aiyoku no Eustia is fully translated and should be released this October too.  Visual novels have a lot more text than books so that should keep people for a good long while.

Love Live! Superstar! is over.  Until Kimetsu no Yaiba S2 begins, the fall anime season looks like this in terms of what's most exciting to watch week-to-week:

1.  Shiroi Suna no Aquatope
2.  Selection Project
3.  Yuuki Yuuna wa Yuusha S3
4.  Platinum End
5.  Muv-Luv Alternative
6.  Tropical Rouge Precure
7.  Pride of Orange
8.  86 S2
9.  Hanyou no Yashahime S2
10.  Sekai Saikou Ansatsusha
11.  Takt op.Destiny
12.  Dragon Quest: Dai no Daibouken Remake
13.  Kyoukai Senki
14.  Kaginado
15.  Taishou Otome Otogibanashi
16.  Shin no Nakama Janai

Selection Project really is a remake of Idoly Pride without the supernatural nonsense.  One of the idol contestants is the little sister of a famous deceased idol, exactly like in Idoly Pride.  I was also right to immediately rank Selection Project among the top 200 anime.  Idoly Pride would have been great if not for the heart transplant nonsense, and as shown by the third episode, that's exactly what Selection Project intends to be.

I'm surprised by how good Platinum End has been.  I remember it as a mediocre manga that eventually got boring, but if the anime stays this good it could reach my rankings.  The anime is slated for 24 episodes after all, and in this business length is everything.

Muv-Luv's shine is already fading, though.  The brilliant first episode is anomalous, now we're back to regular time travel hijinks which reduces the tension to 0.  The Beta were menacing in the first episode, but nothing poses a threat to a time traveler, who can redo things until they work out as often as they like.

Add in a fun college football season which still has lots of unbeaten teams and a fun NFL season with tons of thrilling overtime finishes. . .  It's been a year where stubbornly nothing happened but all of that is turning around.  Suddenly there's too much to do.
