Fall 2021 Anime First Impressions: Part 2

Taishou Otome Otogibanashi:  I don't like the main character boy, but the main character girl, Yuzu, is quite becoming.  For her sake I'll keep watching.  Oh and the Taishou period, where you can buy a wife for $100, is awesome.  Pass.

Megaton-kyuu Musashi:  Get in the damn robot, Yamato.  Pass.

Selection Project:  Idoly Pride done right.  The same singer hopeful with a weak heart, but this time no heart transplants or ghosts mucking things up.  A plot centered around actual idols singing and dancing, not communing with spirits.  This is what I wanted Idoly Pride to be when I mistakenly ranked it based on the early episodes.  Now I feel like ranking Selection Project but I'm afraid of another train wreck like what happened to Idoly Pride.  Oh, to hell with it, Selection Project is a great anime.  I'll bet my reputation as a connoisseur based on these first two episodes.  This series, unlike Idoly Pride, won't let me down.  Pass.

Saihate no Paladin:  A surprisingly bad series.  The art style is uninspired, the plot similar to a million other series, and the characters stupider versions of other characters we've seen in plenty of other series.  I can't think of a single thing that recommends this show.  Shinka no Mi also has a dumb cast, but at least it's original.  Fail.

Shikizakura:  Not anime.  Full CG.  Bad and boring cg to boot.  Fail.

I'll review Ousama Ranking and Denchi Shoujo once they come out.  This will do for now.  The big news that Selection Project is entering my top anime rankings can't be delayed any longer.
