After listening to the song 83 times, I realized it wasn't a good song and I didn't want to listen to it anymore, so it was cast out of my music hall of fame back into the ranks of also-rans.
This is a good proof of principle behind my logic of requiring a ranked song be heard 100 times before its place in my rankings is assured. Just like every great anime must be rewatched to prove it is great, every great song must be re-heard 100 times to prove it never gets old.
Nobody reaches my rankings easily, they're ranked for a reason. And the reason the number is 100 times is because if I set the bar lower, like 50 or 20 times, stuff like 'Mark of the Vanquished' would have gotten through the filtration mechanism and falsely be labeled great forever. False positives must be rooted out to the very last!
As for my anime rewatch project, I've now rewatched the first four episodes of Shingeki no Kyojin Final, which means I'm caught up with everything that aired before 2021.
It's going to be tough to rewatch everything great that came out in just the last few months, but I suppose I may as well try for a 'full clear' now that I'm this close to done. The problem is every day the list of things I need to rewatch grows, like with the latest episodes of Edens Zero. If I don't rewatch anime at a faster clip than new things come out I'll never finish.
April has a lot of other stuff to do than rewatch anime, which complicates the race. The first episodes of the new April anime season must all be assessed in search of new treasures. The latest volumes of Outbreak Company and Bleach are about to be released for reading. I'm trying to beat Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and learn more about Nia, who I honored with inclusion into my fictional characters hall of fame, to make sure I made the right decision. March Madness is still ongoing (even though it's April). Every day is overbooked!
