Kami-tachi ni Hirowareta Otoko rewatched:

Every series I label as great must be proven great by not only watching in full but rewatching in full.  This time it was Kami-tachi's turn.  It's only been a few months since the series ended and I've already rewatched it.  It was perfectly enjoyable the second time too, proving beyond any doubt what a gem this is.

I considered Eliaria for my fictional character hall of fame when the series first came out, but rejected her for, of all things, her accent.  I didn't like the ladylike 'desuwa' at the end of every sentence and held it against her, even though as a duke's daughter she has no choice but to talk that way.  This time I got over my prejudice and looked at her true self, the kind, courageous, talented, sincere, needy but not naggy Eliaria.  Combine that with her golden cape of hair and those enormous sapphire eyes and she looks less like a lady and more akin to a goddess.  This time she made my fictional character hall of fame with flying colors.

Ryoma of course was already in my hall of fame and was cool as ever.  Congratulations to both of them.  I hope they marry sometime down the road.  They're the perfect couple.  I also came up with a new thematic summary in my top anime rankings for the show, 'cleanliness is next to godliness,' because I couldn't resist the pun.  It's a little more poetic than the previous 'janitors' description too.  :).

All in all it was a fruitful rewatch.  If people haven't seen this series yet they need to stop wasting their lives and dive in.  They will be cleaned body and soul by the final episode.

Tropical Rouge Precure's first episode has aired and it's a solid beginning.  I want to give it more time before I judge, though.  Kira Kira had a solid start but it ended terribly.  Well, even if I rate it 'great' I can always take it back like I did with Kira Kira and Huggto, but I'd prefer to get it right the first time and not have to make any retractions.  Obviously if Tropical Rouge is great I'll have to add some of the new Precure to my fictional character hall of fame as well.  Manatsu certainly looks promising, Laura is voiced by Rina Hidaka and a cute mermaid so it's hard to argue against her either, and we haven't even met the others yet.  There are many Precure that could use replacing so this would help out the quality of my '100 Waifus' book if everything goes well.

[Coalgirls] has released the first 4 episodes of Strike Witches: Road to Berlin in blu-ray.  They're a reliable group so this pretty much guarantees we'll eventually get to see the whole thing in blu-ray.  That's great news.  The Strike Witches are very pretty so it's better to view them in HD blu-ray.
