'In Another World With 100 Waifus' read and edited for the 21st time:

I've pretty much gone over the edits that went into this 21st edition.  Mainly it was about moving around children to more suitable mothers, and replacing children's names with more suitable names from new franchises entirely.  Both very noble and important goals, but both only dealing with the notoriously mutable fictional character hall of fame.

There was another side to the edits, though, and that was proofreading.  This time as well I had to fix capitalization, spacing, punctuation and arithmetic errors.  There were also fixes to grammar and awkward phrasing.  However, virtually all of these problems occurred only in parts 4 and 5.  Reading parts 1-3 went quite smoothly (go figure since they've been around longer).  And even in the later half of the book, the proofreading required was way down compared to previous re-reads.  This is why it was possible to finish re-reading the book so swiftly.  I was almost able to just sit down and read the thing uninterrupted.

In a sense, I'm glad there were still errors to proofread -- it meant re-reading the book for the 21st time was worthwhile and important.  But now I think I can safely say there isn't a single problem left in the book.  There were already so few problems this time I doubt anything escaped.

Perhaps more importantly, there wasn't a single reason to add more content like I've been doing all these previous times.  This is because there aren't any plotholes left -- I'm satisfied with my treatment of everyone and everything.  Not only did I not have to add anything this time, I actually managed to shrink the word count overall.

Who knows, maybe someday that will change.  But for now I'm giving '100 Waifus' a clean bill of health.  This is the perfect form of the perfect book.  It's impossible to improve any further.  God knows I've tried.  21 times in little over a year.  Has any author put more effort into a book than I have mine?  Has anyone ever read a book as many times as I have?  It's only natural that I'd finally arrive at perfection after such a single-minded pursuit.

I thought about providing quotes from the book as samples of why this story is so great, but none of it has the same impact out of context.  You really have to read the whole thing to understand what a miracle this book is.  This is as close to divine writ as humanly possible.  I will say that the sexy scenes were as sexy as ever, even the 21st time, the romantic scenes were as touching as ever, the philosophical jaunts as convincing as ever, and the banter as snappy as ever.  If this is even possible, I may have enjoyed this 21st edition more than any previous time.  After all, I wasn't bogged down in editing and proofreading, and all the plot holes had already been filled.  21 times and I'm loving it more than ever.  Can anyone else say that about any other book?  Anyone?  Bueller?

I think my favorite portion of the book is the early going of part 4 (chapters 38-46), but I hate to say that because all the chapters are great.  That's how a book reaches perfection, the whole thing sparkles.  But I feel like, in a sense, this portion of the book is the climax and summation of every other portion in its most beautiful, poetic form.  Perhaps dubious readers could start at Part 4 and see what they think -- and then if they like that start back over at Part 1 and really dig down.  All I know is that everyone on Earth should read this book and then transform their lives accordingly.

I still need to read this book for a 22nd time, because I still haven't managed to read the book without having to edit or proofread something, thus proving it's perfect.  But I can least defer that project to a later date.  As I mentioned in my busy Easter post, there's a lot of other projects piling up I'd like to get on. . .  Plus I've been working so hard lately my weight has been dropping.  All the way down to 172 lbs.  I deserve a break!
