All due to Season 4, Boku no Hero Academia has emerged as a new great anime. Lemillion's fight with Chiaki(?) to save Eri(?) was one of the best fights in the history of anime. Deku's follow through was also welcome.
After that came Deku's and Lemillion's efforts to cheer Eri(?) up at the school festival and another amazing fight between Deku and Gentle Criminal. Season 4 has all the goods!
I'd almost like to just call Boku no hero Academia Season 4 a great anime. Then I wouldn't have to rewatch the whole thing, but the plot is way too interconnected for that to fly. If you like one part of the story you have to accept it all.
Plus there's good fights in the early segments, between Deku and Ice/Fire dude (Todoroki?), and All Might vs. All For One. Plus Gravity Girl (Urara?) vs. Bakugo. There's some good stuff here and there throughout, made very tedious by all the boring stuff inbetween. But if you look at it this way -- there are more than enough great episodes in boku no hero academia to outpace Alien Nine -- even assuming Alien Nine's 4 episodes are all great. If even 1/10 of Boku no Hero Academia's episodes are great, that's still twice as many great episodes as Alien Nine's entire lineup.
Of course Boku no Hero Academia should replace a show like that in the rankings. The real question is how much higher Academia should climb -- but I won't know that until the end of the season, and most importantly, whether they announce a 5th season or not. So for now it's fine at #199 as a placeholder.
The vast episode length of Academia compared to Alien 9 will give me a big boost towards my goal of over 9,000 great anime episodes. I sure hope they make a 5th season and keep the reinforcements coming.
Deku also joins my fictional character hall of fame, and thus my '100 Waifus' novel, in place of woe-begotten Kiuru, who was only there out of pity. He's too indecisive when it counts to merit a place in those hallowed halls. Deku, meanwhile, is full of compassion, insight, courage and grit. He's a true hero.
Now I just need to rewatch the entire series to prove its worth. But I'm already confident the rewatch will succeed. These latest episodes have been so amazing it will all be worth it.
My instinct to take Yuri out of my fictional character hall of fame because Alien 9 was leaving soon anyway was proven correct. Make way for the new Shonen Jump headliner series. This is what anime is all about. Naruto, Bleach, Kimetsu no Yaiba, One Piece, My Hero Academia, these are the fundamentals no anime hall of fame can possibly do without. It would be like an art gallery without Michelangelo.
