In preparation for the upcoming 1,000 Year Blood War arc, I'm rewatching Bleach, so I can polevault straight into the new anime without a hitch. If I'm going to rewatch Bleach, though, I may as well do it right -- with top of the line high fidelity graphics. Bleach has come out in blu-ray up till episode 167 thanks to [Judas], and due to the wonders of hevc encoding, the filesize is no bigger than the old 480p versions. And yet the resolution is so unbelievably crisper, more detailed, and beautiful. It's night and day. Either [Judas] is the greatest encoding genius on the planet, or technology has advanced significantly from when this series was released, because it looks so much better now. You absolutely must watch this upgraded version of Bleach. It leaves the original broadcast version in the dust.
As always the blu-ray is available over at nyaa.si.
I'd like to blu-ray upgrade even more of the series, but [Judas] hasn't gotten that far. At the least, everything that comes after 167 is widescreen, so the old video quality isn't as lacking as the pre 167 eps were. Even if no more blu-ray comes out, most of the problem is now solved.
Hinowa ga Yuku came out with a flurry of new chapters over at mangakakalot. Unfortunately two of them are each missing a page. So frustrating -- one of them is Hisame's proposal to Rinzu. That's kind of a crucial moment. Still, six new chapters of Hinowa is pretty nice. It feels like a lot of stalled projects are back on track now -- Hinowa, Kaleid Liner, One Pace -- now if we could just get a blu-ray subtitled version of Seikai no Monshou life would be perfect. . .
A new Slime Tensei ova is available. Like usual, it's okay.
I added Chihayafuru back to my anime wishlist now that season 3 is over and no season 4 has been announced. To make room I kicked out Locodol.
Tomorrow is Outbreak Company's turn, with volume 13's release.
