Girls und Panzer ova 2 available:

A nigh instant release since the blu-ray came out in Japan, this ova aired a long time ago last year in theaters.  Now the English speaking world gets a stab at it as well.  It's just one part of a larger whole, so like Hibike! Euphonium it will leave us just as stranded as before, but every little bit helps.

A lot of the anime that's come out this year is actually from last year.  As Japan keeps increasing the amount of theatrical anime this trend is only set to expand.

I can't believe the stock market has lost 10% of its value over a flu virus that hasn't killed anyone in America and only seems to kill old men elsewhere.  The actual flu has already killed 16,000 Americans this season and the stock market kept reaching new highs, and now this completely meaningless virus that hasn't done any harm is destroying the world economy?  People are so irrational.

Trump is pretty much destined to be re-elected, as his Democratic competitors are absolute radicals on every issue, and the American people will prefer stability over communism.  This means all the tax cuts and deregulation Trump put in will continue for another four years, guaranteeing a booming economy.  There is no reason in an environment like this, of full employment and rising wages, the stock market should be tanking.  It's a complete disconnect with reality.

Where will the money that was taken out of the stock market go?  Into bonds that yield less than inflation or even negative rates?  Or real estate that low birth rates and low immigration rates cannot justify?  Where else but stocks can you even put your cash?  Under a mattress and watch it all get inflated away?  In gold which has already tripled in price since 1990 despite having no innate worth, meaning it could easily be worth 1/3 as much tomorrow as the fad dies down?  In cryptocurrencies which have even less innate worth than gold?

What is better than owning a portion of a profit stream?  A company working day and night to provide you a cut for free?  As many as millions of people working every day to make sure you get rich?  The world is awash in surplus cash, trying to find somewhere to invest itself, as we all get richer than any basic needs can exhaust.  Almost all that money comes into the US stock market, as we're the safest bet in the world.  In a situation like this, how can the stock market drop 10% on a completely manufactured panic?  Who are the idiots divesting right now?  It certainly isn't any brokerage firms, who are all bullish on the great discount prices currently on offer.  So where are all these idiots crawling out from?

Plus when you take into account emerging technologies, how can the economy possibly go down?  Self-driving cars, cheap spaceflight, fusion power, the cure to cancer, faster internet and computer chips, cheaper batteries, AI, we're making so much progress right now.  Any of these inventions would be worth quadrillions.

So long as we don't start World War III, there's nothing but sunny skies ahead.  And Trump has already proven to be one of the most pacific Presidents in history.  He's de-escalated virtually every conflict zone previous presidents put him in.  We're about to sign a peace deal with the Taliban.  What more do investors want?

Though in truth, the currencies people truly wish to be paid in aren't cash at all.  They wish to be understood and appreciated, which after food, water and shelter are their primary desires in life.  To be understood doesn't necessarily mean people have to agree with you, just that they know where you're coming from, why you think that way, and don't want to disembowel you for it.  If they understand then they won't condemn.  As for appreciation, people want their effort to be rewarded.  They want to know that the things they're doing make others happy and grateful, kindly disposed towards them in return.  Even a smile on someone's face as they talk to you is often a precious gift.

If you go through life doing things no one understands and no one appreciates you for, it feels like life is meaningless and you don't belong anywhere on Earth.  And it is this currency which is most lacking in modernity.  As shared moral norms and shared narratives dissolve, society becomes a splintered factionalism of armed camps all condemning each other.  God is dead.  No reasonable person could possibly believe the nonsense found in the Bible or Koran.  Increasingly, most young people worldwide don't.  The boomers were the last religious generation in human history.  But without a united creed there can be no community.  If someone is detestable for disagreeing about basic moral truths or values, then obviously there can be no tolerance or negotiating with them.  One or the other side must be eliminated.  And since no one will agree with me about the need for separate nations for people of differing values, we're stuck cheek by jowl around people who cannot and will not ever understand us.

We're sacrificing the spiritual currency of community in favor of the efficiency of markets and the currency of materialism.  But to what end?  So that there can be 10 billion people on Earth instead of 1 billion who actually enjoy their lives?  Does that make any sense?

And as for appreciation, so long as we're moving at cross-purposes from one another, all effort is considered malicious sabotage by our contemporaries instead of the loving outreach it was intended as.  Global Warming rioters are doing everything they can to 'save' us from their imagined crisis.  I'm sure they feel like they deserve our appreciation in exchange, but since they're trying to destroy industrial civilization thanks are unlikely.  In a community of mutual understanding the efforts we take to change the world for the better would be appreciated, not despised, as is currently the case because we're all living around enemies actively trying to make our lives worse.

The situation is made worse by the fact that most jobs are unproductive or even counterproductive.  Should students really be thanking teachers for brainwashing them with lies about how there are 53 genders?  Should kids thank teachers for being warped into a suicidal and self-destructive mindset that will ruin their lives and the lives of their parents?

When your job is to serve fast food to obese people, you are actively making their lives worse with every effort you make.  Should you really receive thanks for this?

Or how about cops, the military, judges and lawyers, whose jobs these days is more often to protect criminals and illegal aliens from the law abiding than the law abiding from the criminals and the invaders?

Or doctors whose main job is to treat diabetic obese people whose sole cause of bad health is their own irresponsible behavior which your job is government subsidized to subsidize?

There's basically no job in the current market deserving of appreciation, because all of it is phony.  Most spending comes from the government, not people's voluntary choices, which means your customers didn't even want to buy the product you're serving them.  It was forced onto them at gunpoint.  Often, when it is the voluntary choice of a customer to buy something from you, it's drugs, or alcohol, or tobacco, or tattoos or piercings or porn or gambling or some other self-destructive choice you shouldn't be aiding to begin with.

How many rich people are providing products that only make their clientele less happy afterwards?  Like credit card debt, student loan debt, stupidly expensive cars or handbags. . .and on and on?  How much of the economy is out and out fraud, like banking and insurance?

There's essentially zero chance anyone can be appreciated for their job.  Since jobs are mainly excuses to legally mug other people via government force, and after that mainly fall under the category of legalized fraud.  So your next hope would be to be appreciated for your charity or hobby, but in a world where most people morally despise your charity or hobby, you're unlikely to succeed here either.  The author of Ero Manga Sensei, who wrote one of the most loving and wonderful stories of all time, that could not have been more wholesome or pure, was recently condemned by an Australian Senator as evil corrupting literature that should be stricken from the face of the Earth.  When you can produce something so good for others and still be condemned for it, what hope anyone else?  This same senator went on to condemn the greatest story ever told, Sword Art Online, as well as No Game No Life and other artistic masterpieces.  So even producing the greatest work of art in human history is not enough to receive any appreciation.  Your gift of truth and beauty to the world was returned not with love but unadulterated hate.

If only otaku were allowed to gather together and form their own nation where artistic brilliance is properly understood and appreciated, it wouldn't matter what some random Australian Senator says.  But instead we all live isolated and at the mercy of these condemnatory neighbors.  We can never find each other in this sea of unrelenting hostility which wants to ban our pride and joy.  And so we can go our whole lives never being appreciated or understood, even though there are millions of us who would love each other if only we were ever put in the same spacial coordinates.

Every day the noose tightens as more and more beautiful art is censored and banned.  Practically the entire industry is condemned as child pornography and banned.  Wholesome love stories where the protagonists marry after their very first love in life -- doesn't matter!  Child porn anyway!  So long as we live around people who can't appreciate our hobby or understand our values it's only a matter of time before our lifestyle is entirely quashed.  After that, what's left?  If you can't love or be loved because no one understands you, and you can't make beautiful art or consume it because it's all banned as 'child pornography,' and you can't tell the truth or read it because it's banned as 'hate speech,' what is left in life to live?

I keep going back to the statistic showing that 150 IQ people are five times as likely to commit suicide as normal people.  It's obvious why -- isolated as they are with the intelligence to see through the accepted common lies, they cannot get along with others.  So they go through their whole life never being understood and their works never being appreciated by anyone.  Just like Nietzsche.  Even Socrates was forced to commit suicide at the hands of a society that refused to understand or appreciate him.

It's hard enough for an intelligent person to be understood or appreciated in any era.  But how much harder has modern liberalism made things, with its transparent and brazenly atrocious lies constantly being thrown in our faces?  Men and women are the same, people can be any gender they feel like at the moment, gay sex is as loving and wholesome as the love that can form real families, blacks are just as bright as whites but we are villainously oppressing them so that they can never show their genius through any concrete objective measurement, ditto for women and men, etc., etc.  How can anyone wade through this much muck?  How can anyone get along with a society so completely steeped in lies?  And yet, we have the same basic emotions as everyone else.  We want to be understood and appreciated like everyone else.  We want to be of use to others and liked thereby.  It's just that there's no outlet left for us.  Everything is so fiercely and stridently condemned and denied.  They hate us so very much, what can we even do?

The best solution I can find is to imagine I'm someone else, doing something else, which actually is appreciated.  For instance as Masaomi in Senren Banka, who frees a bunch of cute girls of an evil village curse and then helps them out at work and in other ways to the point that they're all bursting with love for you.  This is certainly a pleasant dream, a great role-play, but reality always comes crashing back down to Earth once the book's cover is closed.  They may have loved Masaomi, but they didn't love you.  No one understands or appreciates you.  Until we live in a community of our choosing, via ideological filtering, we will never experience the joys found in the stories.  Or the joys all our ancestors shared by having a united religion and understanding of a well lived life and a 90%+ chance of a family life where your littlest deeds can have a big impact on the happiness of those around you.  We will just keep drifting like ships in the night, never meeting until we all die of old age or under the knives of the hatred of our 'neighbors.'

And the one thing holding us back from this realignment is the need to get a job and live in the place that gave you the job.  The one thing preventing the real joys in life is this preternatural fixation on material gain.  And where is that coming from except the demands of women that we be high status to earn their graces?  People could work anywhere, do virtually anything, to meet their basic caloric and shelter requirements.  So where does sacrificing everything in the name of economic efficiency come from?  From the inflated demands of women who won't even look at us unless we make more than them, while they're being subsidized by the government straight out and given all sorts of cushy government jobs.  What an absurd competition.  Where do they get all those subsidies?  From the hard work of other men.  So we're basically trying to out-earn everyone else in the world.  It's like trying to pick yourself up -- that frenzy of energy is working at exact cross-purposes to your intended goal.

I wish men would stop seeking the approval of women -- which requires we sacrifice everything valuable in life -- and instead focus on making each other happy by building up a new community of mutual understanding and appreciation.  With the power of surrogacy, we could people that new community with tons of wonderful girls, for the first time ever raised with the correct values, soon enough.  Girls who would understand and appreciate their neighbors instead of lecture and steal from them as the current situation stands.  All it would take is a strike, one short break, from women, and everything could be realigned in our favor.  But even that short refusal to bow to women's demands, that short moment where we aren't getting laid, is apparently too much to ask.

Ultimately we're too cowardly and weak-willed to deserve anything good in life.  Unlike all previous generations, the spiritual goods God most wanted to gift us with will never be experienced from birth to death.
