Translators are almost caught up:

A strange new phenomena is occurring with Japanese media -- the translations are only slightly behind Japan.

Kyoukai no Rinne only has three chapters left untranslated.  Btooom! is only one volume away, as is Dimension W.  Junai Sensation only has one epilogue chapter left.  Amagi Brilliant Park volume 7 is coming out soon, leaving only volume 8 untranslated.  We're only a month away from the completion of Akame ga Kill! Zero.  We're almost all caught up on Zettai Karen Children.  We're mostly caught up on Broken Blade.  Same for Joukamachi no Dandelion.  No Game No Life volume 9 is coming out soon, which means it will then be only one volume behind.

Hoshizora no Memoria's fandisk is supposedly getting translated sometime this year.  Aiyoku no Eustia is 75% translated.  Even Majikoi A-3 is half done.

Dare we dream of a no-language-barrier world?  No, because there's still stuff being censored like Ryuuou no Oshigoto! and PapaKiki due to America being more prudish than Japan.  So long as that's true not all good art will be translated even though it could be.

Hopefully as official translations clear up all the low hanging fruit, fan translators will then start tackling the more obscure and censored products simply because that's all that's left.  Then we really could reach heaven.  But for now it's nice to see we're at least half way there.

I'm on the last translated volume of Youjo Senki, volume 6, but I'm not impressed.  The books are bogged down in meaningless details and refuse to move the plot forward.  This can't replace anything in my good books hall of fame, nor is it worth seeking an anime sequel to.  Maybe if the books actually do make progress someday, they could go ahead and animate that, since nothing happens in any of these books they could just skip ahead freely.
