Rankings Redone:

With the endings to MIX, Fairy Tail, Kimetsu no Yaiba and Kanata no Astra, it was time to review my top anime rankings once again.

Kimetsu no Yaiba has an upcoming movie, so I gave it an optimistic ranking of #73.  MIX did not get a sequel announcement, so it's stuck at #107.  The same for Fairy Tail which is stuck at #2.  Kanata no Astra polevaulted up to #95 with its nice ending.  Vinland Saga, which still has another cour to go, moved up to #109, taking its potential for growth into account.

While I was ranking my new series for the first time I also moved some older series around.  Gate, Youjo Senki, Aishiteruze Baby and other series dropped a bit, while Koutestujou no Kabaneri, Juuou Mujin no Fafnir, Ryuuou no Oshigoto and the like rose a bit.

In the grand scheme of things it doesn't really matter if you're ranked 90th or 100th, but when a lot of series change their rankings by that much the cumulative effect does start to matter, so it's important to be as accurate as possible with every single series.

It's a lot of effort to change my rankings so I try not to do it often.  But I'm going to have to do so pretty soon because Honzuki no Gekokujo is coming out in a couple days.  At least for now my rankings are at peak accuracy though.

Kimetsu no Yaiba suffers from two problems that are keeping it down -- the story is incomplete and Zenitsu.  If Zenitsu didn't exist the series would be infinitely better.  Sadly, he does, so #73 it is.

My wishlist also saw some changes, as Fairy Tail and MIX were added at the expense of Gate and Futari Ecchi.  Whenever a show ends before the source work, the wishlist will inevitably reflect that.  It's hard to believe such popular shows are really being canceled in favor of the stupid nonsense that comes out every season that I swear no one likes.

Meanwhile, after 83 times listening to 'Catastrophe' and 'Theme of Black Knight,' I decided 'Catastrophe' was a remix and cut it.  I wish I'd noticed sooner.  Oh well, back to 5458 songs in my music hall of fame.
