Vinland Saga Begins:

For some reason God blessed us today.  Not only did USA win the (women's) World Cup, but the first three episodes of Vinland Saga arrived all at once.  I was poised to list Vinland Saga as a great anime with only 1 episode, but 3 makes it an easy call.  This is a great anime.

Vinland Saga replaces the tragically flawed 12 Kingdoms for the reasons described in my previous post.  Like usual, as a result, the total episode count of great anime decreased, even further, yet again.  Reaching 9,000 is quite the challenge these days.

There were other good events.  Aquaman turned out to be a visually gorgeous movie, from the lead characters, to the costumes, to the underwater cities, to the cool fight scenes, everything looked great.  I had given up on D.C. movies being any good, but Aquaman makes me think they've really turned things around.  It was much better than Captain Marvel.  It also joined my great movies hall of fame, kicking out a lackluster James Bond film to make room.

The Danmachi movie also came out.  It was okay, I guess.  The subtitles were pretty bad, and the plot was an overdone trope.  At least Hestia was as pretty as ever.

There was even a new episode of One Pace, shrinking down what used to be two episodes of One Piece.  Keep up the good work, fan editors!
