If only I could read Japanese. . .:

My 100 Waifus novel has 104 views for part 1.  Part 2 has 70.  Part 3 has 63.  Part 4 has 52 views.  Part 5 has 32.  I wish I could host the entire book in one place, for the sake of everyone's convenience, but there's a word limit per post on blogger so I have to break it down into smaller pieces like this.  Everybody refuses to leave a praising comment for this book for whatever reason, but the reader retention is implicit praise.  People can say they tried out part 1, didn't like it, and quit.  That can explain the 104 number as a fluke.  But the 70 people who clicked on to part 2 have no such excuse.  The only reason they would have done that is if they liked part 1.  And so on for the subsequent portions.  The only people clicking on each new part have to be fans of the previous parts.

Nor can the argument be made that the only pageviews are 'bots.'  If that were the case, all five parts would have about equal pageview counts.  The steadily receding number is proof that sentience is behind the choices, people reading x far but no further as they tire of the novel or simply haven't had the time to finish it yet.

Even if there were a baseline bot count (lets say 32 across the board for maximal negativity), that would still imply 20 people who liked the story all the way until part 4.

For the best book ever written, it's a shame there are currently only 20 fans who understand its grandeur, but 20 is still better than 1 (myself).  But there is one issue that really hinders 100 Waifu's potential, and that's the fact that for 52 out of the 100 waifus discussed, I still don't know everything about them.  This is because their stories are still being told in their original source works, or even worse, their stories are finished in Japanese but haven't been translated into English.

Then there's Usagi Tsukino.  Technically her story is fully told in the manga, but with the anime coming out, with her iconic voice, it's better to wait to see the anime version.  Which means essentially her story is unavailable, as the Crystal anime series just keeps getting delayed.

The 28 'under construction' waifus can't be helped, creators can only create so quickly, they're doing hard work so I understand if it proceeds slowly.

Tifa and Aerith were finished products until FF 7 Remake promised to redo them in HD glory, full voice acting and all new scenes.  Now they're black boxes like all the others.  Given how slowly FF 15 came out, God knows how long it will take to get to know Tifa and Aerith again via Remake's conclusion.  2035?

We'll learn most of what's missing about Rin Natsume, Haruka Saigusa and Kudryavka from the upcoming Kud Wafter movie.

Mira Yurizaki will be fully revealed soon, as there are only 16 volumes to this manga and volume 15 is set to be released in English this August.

Myucel Foaran is being translated into English, slowly but surely.  There are 18 volumes of Outbreak Company and volume 10 will be released in English soon.

Rewrite+ was supposed to come out in English ages ago.  I have no idea what happened to it.  Maybe someday we'll get to see the rest of Kotori Kanbe's story.

Sakura Mamiya's tale is almost complete.  There are only two volumes of RIN-NE left to translate into English and new translated chapters of the manga appear regularly.

Majikoi A is still being translated, supposedly, though at this rate the Earth will freeze over first, so Sayaka might be fully fleshed out someday.

The real tragedies are the remainder -- Kobato, Sora, Miu, Sara, Nemu, Yume, Himeno, Sakura Yoshino, Aisia, Koko, Yoru, Asa, Yuuhi, Iris and Mitsuki.  Odds are the rest of their stories, even though complete, will never be available to an English audience.  No one has been translating their works for a long time now, and with each passing year they're more forgotten.  If no one's been excited enough to translate their stories so far, it's doubtful anyone in the future will.

Kobato, Iris and Mitsuki are the most annoying because most of their light novels were translated.  It's only the very ending that's missing.

If only I could read Japanese, I could learn the endings to these maidens' tales.  As it stands, I have to wait for some miraculous machine translation breakthrough combined with a nifty new software that applies said innovation to untranslated visual novels, light novel raws, etc.  Neither of these things seems to be anywhere on the horizon.

15 waifus lost to the void.  And a story that could have been improved by knowing them better, instead is stuck at its present length and quality.  It's such a shame.
