With Dragon Quest XI completed, I'm on the prowl for new good stories, and Noble Witches was an obvious opportunity. The World of Witches is always great so long as it's serious (never mind the dumb comedy anime airing right now). The Break Witches spinoff anime was nearly as good as the original, so why shouldn't Noble Witches be too?
Since there's a currently releasing manga of the series it made perfect sense to shift to it, and, go figure, it's excellent so far. Sasuga World of Witches. Another manga to follow right on time to fill the empty time.
Meanwhile, I sleuthed out the quest I'm missing in Dragon Quest, it's a stupid, chance based quest to win the jackpot on the roulette wheel. So basically I have to sit there and watch the ball bounce around until I get lucky. A complete time sink. It's the only quest I haven't completed, so I'm sure I'd get a trophy if I completed it, but for something so uninspiring I don't know if I ever will. . .
The important thing is I completed everything worthwhile in the game already. That's good to know.
Plus I replaced more One Piece with One Pace. The pared down, non-filler version of events saved me another 32 episodes worth of wasted time, thus shrinking my anime hall of fame yet further. I assume I'll someday reach 9,000 again, but with the way One Piece keeps shrinking in size that's no time soon.
This time I axed the original One Piece version of Post-Enies Lobby and Thriller Bark. Since Brook is my least favorite crew member any time saved on the arc featuring him is a good thing.
The next volume of Index New Testament is slated to be the last. I wouldn't be surprised if he just changes the title of the series and continues anyway, though. Maybe the next series will be called Index: Book of Mormon. Kamachi is way too prolific and has no idea how to wrap stuff up. If it is a conclusion, though, I'd be overjoyed. Will Touma finally get with Mikoto like I've always wanted? Only the next volume can say.
Space X managed to recover its fairing for the first time, so 2 steps forward, but the central core exploded on a failed landing, so 1 step back. This company sure does explode a lot. If we're to become a space-faring civilization, though, it will only be through SpaceX. NASA's feckless track record shows that well enough. After exactly 50 years since our first moon landing, the government still can't get us back out there. All we can do is keep cheering SpaceX on and hope for the best.
