Apparently, ever since December of last year, this book has been translated into English and commercially available. I just never noticed until now. Unfortunately you can't just download it onto your kindle, you have to actually get the book shipped to your door. And until I have enough things I need shipped to my door to receive free shipping, it's just not worthwhile to buy the book with the shipping fee included.
At some point I'll definitely buy and read this book, but I have no idea when I'll reach that free shipping threshold. *sigh* Why couldn't they have just made it available on kindle?
Still, it's great news. This is one of my favorite light novel series. The only problem is even if I read it, the story will still just end on another cliffhanger, because the author never bothered to finish this series. I hate authors who betray their readers like that. The same for Sekai no Senki, which now has a promised translation, but to no real avail, since the author hasn't finished the series anyway.
What is so difficult about finishing a story? I've finished all of mine. Yet another reason why I'm the best author in the world. All these losers could start learning from my example already.
Though I do hope to have enough good ideas to expand my 100 Waifus story some more eventually, I'm not there yet, so its current ending is as good as any. It's already the best book ever even without additional expansion packs.
I reread The Emperor's Son Books I and II and Sellsword just for fun, editing minor proofreading errors along the way. Sellsword is absolute perfection, but much shorter than the others, so its overall entertainment value is lower by default. The Emperor's Son struggles with a lot of difficult concepts, making it tougher to read, but I still like how much the characters change as events unfold. They feel very authentic and organic, because real people change their minds all the time too.
100 Waifus beats them all handily though. Sellsword is my shortest story while 100 Waifus is my longest, so that's no contest. And Emperor's Son is a story about people with backwards beliefs and a backwards culture (appropriate to the historical setting but nevertheless. . .), whereas 100 Waifus is futuristic and forward looking, with the best of beliefs and cultures.
I suppose I'll keep reading my other books and comparing them to 100 Waifus to see if I change my mind, but I doubt I will. After all, I read 100 Waifus 5 times in less than two months I loved it so much. I never did that with any of these other books.
My median music listening number has moved up from 41 to 42. Just 58 more times to go for my remaining 4427 songs!
I rewatched Akaneiro ni Somaru Saka, and it was as good as ever. I kind of wish I could play the visual novel just so I could interact more with the cute redhead girl the anime barely mentions. But there's no english translation so no luck. This wasn't my mandatory second time, I've already rewatched the series well beyond that marker. It's just a classic.
I finished my first route in Trinoline, Yuuri's. I think it's cool that the story branched out from AI powered androids to AI powered virtual reality hologram girlfriends. The two technologies would naturally both exist at the same time for the first time together, so it's interesting that it investigates both of them in the same story. Naturally the story also branches out into cyborgs, people with human brains but artificial android based bodies, which would also become available the moment androids were available. I can't wait to see what high-tech surprises the remaining routes spring on me.
Imouto Sae Ireba Ii volume 4 is set to be released on Amazon this May, the first volume that spans past where the anime ended. I'll look forward to reading that too, once I can get enough stuff together to qualify for free shipping. . .
If they're willing to translate Imouto Sae Ireba Ii though, why not Haganai? It's the much more popular franchise of the two. All I need is the translation of the last chapter of volume 10 and volume 11. Why couldn't they finish just those two things before they started up translating an entirely new, less popular series by the same author? Who are the idiots making these decisions?
