Okay, I've now downloaded all the post-thriller bark One Pace available. There are two missing arcs, 'post war' and 'reverie,' which I still have covered via regular One Piece episodes. Which means the size of One Piece will continue to shrink as One Pace episodes of this content comes on line.
Currently the total episode count sits at 523. I don't want to mess with One Piece up through Thriller Bark because I already went through the effort to download the dvd version of that portion, plus it wasn't so draggy up until then anyway. As a third issue One Pace hasn't covered that portion of the story very thoroughly yet anyway.
My total ranked must-see anime episode/movie count is now 8601. Reaching 9,000 again is going to be muzukashi. Especially since One Pace will contribute far fewer episodes to my total going forward than One Piece would. But no doubt I'll reach that magic number someday.
Pretty Cure is now the largest franchise in my rankings, as it should be. Since it's anime original, it never suffers from filler or recap issues, which gives it an unbeatable advantage over its manga-based foes. Now I just need more Precure seasons like Star Twinkle and fewer like Huggto to get me back to 9,000. Huggto and Kira Kira were so bad they weren't even must-see anime, so more seasons like that won't get my count anywhere.
If J-Novel Club goes through with its stated intentions, novels 5 and 6 of Seikai no Senki will finally have an English translation. Who knows how many years it will take to get there, but that's still better than what we previously had which was nothing.
Seikai no Senki is one of the greatest literary masterpieces of all time, but currently the anime covers everything save a single volume that was translated into English -- Seikai no Senki volume 4. With just one book it's difficult to rank the light novel series very high. Once all three books are out -- or who knows maybe even more if the author ever gets around to it -- this series will finally receive the literary honor it deserves.
12 Kingdoms' new book has blossomed into 4 new volumes by November in Japan. It doesn't aid us much because the previous volume hasn't even been fully translated, but it's at least encouraging. This series is still stuck in a cliffhanger due to the black kirin's travails, and the latest volumes are set in the kingdom of Tai, so there's a possibility that we'll reach some closure on that front. If the translators would just step up, that is.
Trinoline's pretty good so far. I turned off the music because it wasn't appealing compared to my music hall of fame playing in the background, and for some reason all the girls are really busty, but the plot is sufficient to carry all the weight. Sasuga Minori.
