The curse of all comedies is that eventually they run out of material, start repeating their old jokes, and become boring. Sometimes the series ends before they reach this point, and other times they reach this point well before the series ends, and that's the difference between greatness and failure.
Tonari was really funny for the first few episodes, then it became less and less funny, more and more repetitive, and now it isn't funny at all. Oh well, it had a nice run. If the series had been three episodes long it would've been really good. Authors should know when to quit when they're still ahead.
That brings the fall season down to just ten shows, but at least the remainder should be secure.
I was sad to hear that Tetsuo Goto, one of the seiyuu in my anime voices hall of fame, died. That's the second seiyuu to have died on me -- I'm sure there will be many more to come. But his work will never die.
I've resigned myself to the fact that the Arizona and Florida senate seats will be stolen out from under us, just like Minnesota was by Al Franken all those years ago. Republicans are eternal weaklings who will never resort to force to insist on what's right, so they'll always lose to the Democrats who will do whatever it takes to ensure victory. Why hasn't Hillary been arrested for all her crimes? Why hasn't antifa been designated a terror group and rounded up? Why hasn't Christine Blasey Ford been put on trial for perjury? Because Republicans are weak, worthless losers. They always will be. Only Nazis have ever had the balls to stand up to communists. Conservatives have done nothing but lose 'gracefully' for generations.
