RIP Tomomichi Nishimura:

Tomomichi Nishimura is in my seiyuu hall of fame as the resonant voice behind Ohnoki (third Tsuchikage) in Naruto, the villain Belzei in Precure, in FMP, Gunbuster, and elsewhere.  He seems to have always played support roles.  Even in his most famous role in Slam Dunk, he was the coach, not a player.  He died at age 79, so there's nothing to really complain about.  He experienced everything there was to experience on Earth and left before it got tiresome.

I'm introducing a new seiyuu to my hall of fame -- Mai Ishihara.  Hopefully she'll be with us for a lot longer.  She restricts herself almost entirely to visual novels, but within visual novels she's a superstar.  She's the main heroine of a dozen visual novels and the side character of dozens more.  Her most important role might be from Da Capo 4, but I haven't played it since it's only in Japanese so I wouldn't know.  What I do know is she's the voice of Nanami from Riddle Joker and Miku from Limelight Lemonade Jam.  Nanami is basically as attractive as a girl can possibly be and Miku isn't much worse.  Her voice is mesmerizing in both cases, and yet the personality of the two girls is totally opposite.  It shows the versatility of Mai Ishihara who plays both.

Speaking of Limelight, I've finished the main game.  All that's left is the after stories.  But as you can see with Senmomo, the after stories can actually take a long time.  (I should finish the Senmomo side stories already. . .)  It looks like Yuzusoft will still have a strong presence in 2026, despite my best efforts.

Ena's route was nice, but I never took a liking to Ena.  She's pretty and sincere, but kind of bland.  Without someone else pushing her, she comes to a standstill, not knowing what to do.  Unlike Tsukimi and Anju, she doesn't come off as very intelligent.

There were some good songs in Limelight, but surprisingly few considering the premise was forming a band.  None are worth collecting into my hall of fame.  Senren * Banka remains Yuzusoft's masterpiece because of its beautiful old-Japanese-clothing and music.  I also felt like the males of Senren were cooler than the other games.  Since I spend most of my time playing the males, it helps to actually like the males I'm spending most of my time with.

Like usual, I condemn Trump seizing a Venezuelan oil tanker on the ridiculous legal premise that it once shipped Iranian oil, and Iran isn't allowed to ship oil because it might use money from its oil sales to build a forbidden nuclear weapon, and it's not allowed to do that because in 1974 the previous Iranian government under the Shah agreed not to.  The ridiculous sophistry is detestable.  The fact that the world puts up with it is yet more detestable.  The correct response to this seizure is for the whole world to seize any ship carrying US goods saying 'the US might use this money to build nuclear weapons so it's a matter of national security to impound these goods.'  What's good for the goose is good for the gander.  But we all know that won't happen, because the entire world other than the USA is a pussy.  We do whatever we want and everyone else just quails in terror and begs for mercy.  It's so pathetic.  I hate bullies and I hate cowards.  I hate the entire world.

Iran, like any country, has the right to whatever arms are necessary to deter aggression.  This is the sacred right to self defense.  Iran has been attacked 3 times!  Three times!  By three different nations!  Iraq, Israel, and America.  All three times because it lacked nuclear weapons.  It will continue to be attacked until it builds nuclear weapons.  If you were continuously invaded and bombed for not having a particular weapon in your arsenal, you would build one too.  It would be insane not to.  Iran is largely a desert, blessed with oil but not water.  Its population requires imported food to survive.  It must trade something of value in exchange for that food, but you ban it from selling its oil?  On what grounds?  Doesn't America have the right to sell the oil they dig up under their ground?  Iran must be able to trade -- the alternative is genocide.  Imposing a trade blockade on Iran is genocide.  Saying 'we're only blockading the oil' is meaningless because it has no other valuable product people are willing to give food for than the oil.  It's a full and total blockade, which is a war crime.

Saying 'we'll stop genociding you if you merely surrender your sovereignty and do whatever we say' doesn't somehow put the onus on Iran.  That's called blaming the victim.  That's called slavery.  Death is preferable to slavery, so that's not an option at all.  Nations don't have the right to threaten people with genocide in the first place.  It isn't your fault you were genocided if you don't give in to threats.

Iran has every right to use their oil revenue for whatever purpose they see fit, they are just as much a sovereign nation as we are.  If they want to spend it on a military, well, we spend $1 trillion a year on our military.  If they want to spend it on nukes, well, we spend $40 billion a year on nukes.  Iranians are not subhumans who don't have the same rights as Americans.  They have exactly the same rights, as human beings, as we do.  Including the right to effective self-defense.  The saddest aspect of this is that the claim is bullshit to begin with.  Iran isn't seeking nuclear weapons.  If they had wanted to build nukes, they could have done so long ago.  So they're being punished for a lie, for nothing.  Genocided for a false charge.  And even if the charge were true, there's absolutely nothing wrong with what they're doing.  Our aggression against Iran is so despicably unjustified.  And of course, we're using our aggression against Iran as a false pretext in order to attack Venezuela, which isn't even charged with attempting to build nukes!  We don't actually care that the oil tanker once shipped Iranian oil.  We just wanted to impound a tanker that was currently shipping Venezuelan oil, in order to hurt Venezuela's economy.  The excuse for why we stole their vessel is yet another phony pretext on top of all the others.

Everything we say is a lie on top of a lie on top of a lie on top of a lie.  It's lies all the way down.  The truth is we're attacking Venezuela because we don't like their government.  That's it.  Venezuela is left-wing, we're right-wing, so we're sailing thousands of miles away from our homeland to destroy them.  Like the fucking Orcs of Mordor.  All this talk of upholding treaties that Iran signed in 1974 under the Shah is such obvious flimflam.  It's like if Sauron cited some ancient law in a previous age that allowed him to annex Gondor.  It's so brazenly retarded and offensive.  As though anyone actually believes anything coming out of Sauron's mouth.  Why does he even bother to say anything when we all know it's a pretext?  Not even a single American believes anything Trump is saying about Venezuela.  The overwhelming majority of Americans are opposed to his actions there.  Over 70%!

I voted for Trump to get us out of wars, not start new ones.  He hasn't gotten us out of Ukraine, even though he could easily do so at any time, and even though he promised he would end the war in his first 24 hours.  Instead he started a new war with Yemen, Iran and now Venezuela.  He's more warlike than any of his predecessors.  He's worse than Bush!  Bush only started 2 wars!
