Operating on the same theory as to why Hana needed to go, Ciel and Ichika are also Pretty Cure from a bad season of Pretty Cure, Kira Kira, so they also needed to disappear.
After looking over all options, I decided to elevate Ochette from Octopath Traveler II and Mia from Tearmoon Empire to the fictional character hall of fame to be their replacements.
Ochette is a cute, strong and compassionate beastkin from a fantastic game that deserves to be advertised as such, so her role serves two purposes. One to honor herself, and the other to honor her source work. Because she's a beastkin I had another beastkin give birth to her -- Nekone.
Mia also serves two purposes -- she's a cute, daring and loyal girl herself, not to mention a princess. But she's also the poster girl for a new anime in my top anime rankings -- Tearmoon Empire. So far I've always had at least one character in my fictional character hall of fame from every great anime and I don't want to break that tradition. For that reason Nichijou had to leave my top anime rankings, because it no longer had a character in my hall of fame. It had been deemed unworthy and had to go, and Tearmoon Empire is the first worthy replacement to have come along.
Tearmoon doesn't technically start airing until October, but that's close enough to get into my top anime rankings. Sousou no Frieren and 100 Kanojo also start airing this October and also are already ranked, so it joins good company. In a couple months all my anime rankings will represent real existent anime again and my anime rankings will be complete. Throwing Tearmoon into the mix doesn't change that timeline.
In addition, I decided Ken doesn't really deserve recognition as a character because he's a carbon copy of Ryu. Once you've honored Ryu there's no more room for Ken. I replaced him with Roland from 'Release that Witch' because he's a unique and interesting character with the intelligence and ruthlessness to conquer and civilize an Empire for himself using his engineering knowledge from Earth in a backwards fantasy world. He's pretty good looking too. 'Release that Witch' also replaces Nichijou in my manga hall of fame, though technically it's a manhua, but close enough. As a result all my top manga are now properly represented in my fictional character hall of fame as well.
All in all I managed to purge everything unworthy, so now '100 Waifus', my manga hall of fame and my top anime rankings should be perfect. As a bonus this also gets my great franchise count represented in '100 Waifus' back up to a round 300. If I'm going to fix these problems sooner or later anyway, I may as well fix them today.
Australia got drubbed by Sweden, I stopped watching once the rout became clear. Oh well, their victory over France sure was fun. Tomorrow the World Cup ends with what should be a close match, Spain vs. England.
