Four Names Changed:

One of the goals of my fictional character hall of fame is to have a representative from every hall of fame franchise so that people are aware of the best stories ever told, in whatever medium they might be found, and have the chance to then seek them out and be enriched by them just like I have.  When I turned short anime into movie hall of fame representatives I included Grave of the Fireflies and Read or Die, but didn't have a fictional character in '100 Waifus' representing them.  I fixed that by switching in Seita for Golbez (the protagonist of Grave) and Yomiko for Serval (the protagonist of R.O.D.)

In addition, I fully expect Cue! will be a ranked anime soon enough, so I needed a representative from that series, so I switched in Haruna (the protagonist of Cue!) for Kaban.  Neither Kaban nor Serval come from a hall of fame franchise so they could be cut without issue.

I'd much rather have the beautiful animated Yomiko and Haruna over the childishly simplistic CG Kaban and Serval as daughters any day.

The fourth name change wasn't on such a fundamental level of plugging holes.  I just decided Uta was a more attractive character from Selection Project than Suzune, so I changed the representative of the franchise from Suzune to Uta.  Uta is the child actress whereas Suzune is the heart transplant recipient, and at this point I want to avoid all heart transplant characters like a vampire does the cross.  It's the most overused trope in anime.

(I actually still have a heart transplant girl in my fictional character hall of fame, Kanade from Angel Beats!  Maybe I'll replace her someday too. . .)

This is the first major edit to '100 Waifus' my 31st readthrough has produced, but it won't be the final name changes.  In a month new Pretty Cure characters become available and they'll almost certainly replace some of my underperforming Precure that are currently in the book.  And then there's always the Tales characters I intend to replace with Arise characters.  Lastly, there's still 2 'phantom' anime series that need replacing with a real series sooner or later, and then a character from each of those series will have to be provided.  So the 31st edition cannot be the final edition no matter how well proofread it is.

Soon I can switch from work mode -- editing my book -- to play mode -- watching three NFL playoff games in a row!
