Code Geass: Fukkatsu no Lelouch

This movie is filler.  It contradicts multiple important events in the original series, all for the worse.  Moreover, it doesn't make any sense in the first place.  How could such a powerful organization, a whole new coven of Geass users, etc, have escaped everyone's notice up until now?

There are other series who have been recently releasing filler movies and I haven't been too hard on them, though.  Nanoha Reflection + Detonation contradicts events from the original series.  Youjo Senki's movie isn't in line with the light novels.  The Ero Manga ova's aren't based off of anything either.  So even if something is filler, if it's at least watchable that's generally good enough.  This movie may have been the least watchable filler out of all those options, but it was good enough.

The plot may have been a bad idea from start to finish, but the same old charm and pizazz was there.  The visuals, the voice actors, the mecha, the cleverly thought out strategies.  It was nostalgic and fun seeing them all again.  If you go into this movie knowing that everything you're seeing is a false, 'what if' scenario, and don't let it ruin the perfect original ending, you'll come out fine.  Even Da Capo had a Kotori 'if' ending, it didn't ruin Da Capo.

Just don't expect anything more from your filler movie and it should go down smoothly.
