January is going to be a bustling month full of fun. To start with, we get the college football playoff on New Year's Day. (And the college football championship game on the 8th) But it doesn't stop there.
Three days from now the winter 2018 anime season will start. This includes promising series like Card Captor Sakura, Fate/Last Encore, Violet Evergarden, Beatless, Death March, Grancrest Senki, and Basilisk.
There's also a variety of shows that might be good, like Ryuuou no Oshigoto, Citrus, Darling in the Franxx, Koi wa Ameagari no You ni, Hakumei to Mikochi, Yuru Camp, Toji no Miko, Mitsuboshi Colors, Killing Bites, Gakuen Babysitters, Marchen Madchen, Uuchuu yori mo Tooi Basho, and Slow Start.
I'll sort out the winter anime season in my first impressions post, but the series will be trickling out all through the month so that will take a while.
The NFL playoffs start next week and carry on throughout the month.
Arrow will return.
Hunter x Hunter will return.
I can catch up on my reading -- 200 Years Together, Hataraku Maou-sama! volume 15, Parchment and Wolf volume 1, Imouto Paradise 2, etc, etc.
Hopefully Sailor Moon Crystal S3 will come out in blu-ray January, but if I can't rewatch that there's always more Kyoukai no Rinne.
I already pre-ordered Dynasty Warriors 9, so there's February to look forward to too. Then it will be time for the Super Bowl, the Olympics, the new season of Pretty Cure, the resumption of Legends of Tomorrow, etc.
In March there will be basketball. April will mark the start of the spring anime season, which features Steins;Gate 0, Full Metal Panic Invisible Victory, and Major 2nd. And then it's practically time for the World Cup. . .
There are no brakes on this train. 2018 is going to be a fantastic year of non-stop entertainment from all sorts of different genres and mediums. It doesn't get any better than this.
