Good Music 6.0:

http://diamed-the-road-less-traveled.blogspot.com/2017/08/good-music.html

Good Music has received another overhaul.  Now it includes the interesting information about who the best (or at least most prolific) composers are in an easy to read fashion in addition to just the names of the songs, artists and albums.  It also has a small introduction so people can understand what they're looking at.

In addition, the gaps in the columns are closed so everything looks prettier.

Most importantly, I've attributed the name of a composer for every single song.  Instead of the generic 'capcom' or 'III' for Mega Man music, I attached as best I could the names of the actual composers for each and every song.  I'm sure some of the attributions are wrong, and there's still the annoying issue where some songs have four different composers attributed to them, but that's still better than the artist being inhuman companies or roman numerals.  This was indeed the biggest improvement, because now every song in my list has a proper artist's name attached to it, something I've been building towards through many revisions for quite some time now.

There's little sense in honoring songs if you don't also honor the composers who are responsible for them.  This is a celebration of human genius, so at the very least the genius' names need to be properly recorded and venerated.  Just like my good books hall of fame is actually about honoring the authors, not the books they wrote.

Mega Man is a huge proportion of my entire music hall of fame.  So by neglecting these Mega Man composers I was neglecting some of my favorite composers of all.  The composer for Mega Man 2, Takashi Tateishi, for instance, is responsible for 26 great songs, making him my 26th favorite composer, just below Enya.  For such an amazing and important person to just go by the generic anonymity of 'Capcom' was a travesty of justice and a sin.  Now all my Mega Man composers have been given the real respect they really deserve for their really, truly good music.

Takashi Tateishi: 26
Ippo Yamada: 23
Yuko Takehara: 21
Manami Matsumae: 15
Minae Fujii: 13
Yasuaki Bunbun Fujita: 13
Mari Yamaguchi: 10

Seven of the best composers on Earth out of an exclusive list of just 73 composers.  Or in other words, 10% of the best composers in the world composed music for Mega Man.  Not having their names meant my hall of fame was ignoring 10% of the best composers out there -- which is hardly a comprehensive list like I'd been billing it as.  Thankfully now that's all solved and my music hall of fame is the comprehensive guide I promised it to be.

The reason Lost Odyssey had so many undiscovered remixes is because it was new to the list and so I hadn't vetted it thoroughly.  It's actually unlikely that any of my old music still has any of these problems.  It's also unlikely any of my new music has any more problems, either, since I just sifted through them again and cleared all said problems out.  I'm actually pretty confident that the remix issue is now solved.

Two of my Chrono Trigger songs and one of my Macross songs are specially edited from their original form.

Santi-U took out the annoying second half of the song that just went bonkers.

Chrono Trigger's Fanfare 1 was cut down to half size because it just kept repeating over and over.

Finally, Chrono Trigger's Last Battle was edited to take out all of Lavos' annoying screams.

If not for these improvements they wouldn't be worthy of 'hall of fame' status, but luckily now they're just fine.

What's planned for Good Music 7.0?  The inclusion of Xenoblade 2 and Terra Battle 2's music, of course.  My hall of fame should be growing instead of shrinking next time around.
