Countless manga have ended this year, so why not one more? Btooom! says it's ending in one more volume. Of course, this is meaningless to the English speaking world, because we haven't had any translated all year. English Btooom! is stuck at volume 18, while the manga is ending in volume 26. So for us there's still a third of the series to go.
But in any case it just goes to show how grave the situation is in Japan. Yes, lots of manga are still being published -- no, none of them are any good anymore. All the good series are coming to an end.
Mujaki no Rakuen technically hasn't ended yet because there's some bonus chapters planned even after the ending. Still, it's basically over. This means Hayate no Gotoku, Sore ga Seiyuu, Sakura Trick, Fairy Tail, Mujaki no Rakuen, Btooom! and To Love-ru all came to an end this year. Meanwhile, not a single new manga was discovered as worthwhile. So my rankings have had to sit at 99 series instead of 100 all year as I watched franchise after franchise bite the dust. It's nice to see the endings to series, series should definitely have endings, so I'm not blaming these manga for ending -- but the long term implications are clear.
Meanwhile I found three more Lost Odyssey remixes, all copies of the main theme. That reduces my music hall of fame down to 4229 songs. How many more remixes are hiding in there? Who knows. . . it's like weeding the garden at this point. They sprout up, I uproot them, in a never-ending cycle.
