Three stubbornly untranslated oav's and two stubbornly untranslated movies have been translated.  Dragon Ball Super is no longer filler while Dragon Ball recut salvages the original Dragon Ball series from its filler hell.  Eleven new great series have joined my pantheon, Hai to Gensou no Grimgar being the headliner.  Love Live! Sunshine was a worthy successor to the original, as was the similarly spun-off Brave Witches and Vivid Strike.  2016 was a better year than 2015 -- but then what else is new on that front?

We're still awaiting translations of anime that came out in 2016 in Japan, which if translated will count towards the total of great anime released in 2017 (or beyond).  This includes Fairy Tail ova 9, Assassination Classroom's onas, Akatsuki no Yona's ovas, Dimension W's ova, Fate/Kaleid Liner's specials, and the Kin-Iro Mosaic ova.
